This way of polite refuse absolutely coincides with the same Russian expression. You just need to exchange the English words to Russian equivalent words

Hey, Mark. Thanks for this lesson. But I'm afraid I can't understand one thing. Could I use frase "I'm afraid..." with "yes"? For example someone asks me: " Why do you so sad?
