What a tribute to the saint by the senior combo of musicians.👏👏 (His jayanti is on chitirai-pushyam, 8th of May) Senior vidwan OST sir rendered some really delectable krithis in his inimitable style. What a tradition, what a pAdAntatam! His selection of kritis is exemplary and he interspersed them with his brief anecdotes, which are really eye-opening! Starting with karnataka behAg (nEnendu vedagudurA where the saint curses himself for perumAL not appearing) he followed up with bilahari (kanukontini where the saint rejoices on seeing perumAL) asAvEri (rA rA mAintiki, a prahlAda bhakti vijayam kriti) khamAs (sujana jeevanA where the saint praises perumAL) kApi (rAma raghukula where he praises perumAL) kalyani) pAhimAm harE pannagasAyee) manOhari (paritApamu kani, where the saint reminds perumAL about His promise ; some scholars say this is the swan-song of the saint ; but some others say it's giripai in sahAnA) nAganandhini (sattalEni dina where he deplores about the conditions in kali yuga) a majesticntodi (Emi jEsitEnEmi, the saint states that all actions which do not have the grace of perumaL are of no use) neelAmbari (uyyAlaUguvayyathe saint sings lullaby to perumAL) & concluding with vasanthavarALi (pAhi rAma dhoota where the saint praises AnjaneyA) Wonderful✨ The violin support by vidwan Raghavendra rao was tasteful.The mridangam support by senior vidwan mannargudi eswaran & ghatam support by vidwan Dr karthik was brilliant with riveting rhythm 👍👍 Thanks to madhuradwani for bringing it live🙏
