Take a pan and add ghee into it then at the same time take dry red chilli and pieces of potato and let it fry till it turns golden then add sabudana and salt and crushed peanuts and let it be on stove (medium) until it turns translucent from opaque. At last add coriander leaves and a bit of lemon juice. Your tasty sabudana khichdi is ready to eat

@Saumya maintaining her Indian accent is not a correct statement. Madhuri Dixit hardly lived in Denver/ U.S for a long period of time. The American accent or any accent in that matter cannot be spoken in a little bit of time. Kids who are born and grow up in U.S have that accent or someone who has been living in U.S since their teen age years. Many people from other countries living in U.S for many many years do not get that accent. Your tongue is trained in a certain way to make the letters sound in a different way. Yes she does not try to fake it like Priyanka Chopra. Madhuri is more dignified

As a certified plant based chef and an alternate medicine practitioner daily mid day meal is Khichadi with ghee and fresh produce is my go to recipe so as to maintain clean gut . I had previous tried tapioca (sabudana ) the grain turned to sticky and lumpy , thanks to the Nene’s recipe while prepping steaming sabudana before cooking has made all the difference . I now have added sabudana as as one of ten additional ingredients I can now sub as a base for kitchadi . The alternative way is to cook it the traditional way. First add the ghee in a heavy bottom vessel, jeera, chilli, chopped thin slices of raw potato, put soaked sabudana, stir fry on high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, cover it for a min or two. Then remove the lid and add the peanut powder, salt & sugar to taste and then stir fry for another 5 min, add coriander, fresh grated coconut. Lastly squeeze a lemon and serve. The trick is to stir fry first time on high heat and it will never get sticky or soggy.

My most favourite dish from my childhood. N Kothambir vadis from GIRGAUN. FROM: Canada, In Canada for 48 yrs. But poha, n SABUDANA KHICHADI my favorite.Even KHICHADI, WITH DAAL N CHAWAL. Masala Bhat with baby eggplants, n baby potatoes stuffed n cooked with Bhat, MAHARASTRIAN style. I Never put SABUDANA in Micro or steam, but soak it overnight, n drain n add crushed peanuts, boiled potatoes, add sugar, salt n lime juice. And agg green chillies once jeers is cracking and curry Patas, n put my mix of SABUDANA, chopped boiled potatoes, crushed peanuts sprinkled sugar n lemon juice on the mix. And once curry leaves n been chillies n jeera cracked add the mix n stir well on low heat. N garnish with chopped corriander. Never steam SABUDANA. And optional is fresh grated coconut.
