Madill 071 Shotgun with a North Bend

Here we didn't have enough deflection to use the Boman carriage so we put a shotgun or "drift" carriage on the skyline and hung a block on the skidding line or mainline. The chokers were hung on this block. It's similar to a north bend only without using the haulback.

Wish I could show ya it is really neato to watch it all going with the break and learning what's gunna happen when you slack your lines. It's really easy setting up once you know how it's a matter of having a operator good enough to do it.

Oh now this is neat, I was reading about a North Bend layout the other day in the kitchen. Please do a walkaround explaining the layout if at all possible. Love it. Thanks for posting this

What are you using to stop the carriage ? Slacking the main till it stops type thing?
