The story of Madinda Ndlovu
Madinda Khathazile Ndlovu-Former Highlanders and National Team Soccer Player now Highlanders Bosso "Tshilamoya" Coach.“I owe my entry into professional soccer to the famous mentor Ali Bhabha Dube who masterminded the Highlanders junior development policy development programme. I benefitted from that programme with the likes of Nhamo Shambira, Mcdonald Silongwe and Peter Nkomo among others”.
Madinda Khathazile Ndlovu was born on May 2, 1965 in the Kariyangwe area of Binga District, Matableland North province of Zimbabwe. He was brought to the city of Bulawayo by his parents when he was only three months old. His father was then working for the Bulawayo City Council. In the second capital, the family resided in the oldest suburb of Makokoba. Madinda is the third born in a family of eleven-six boys and five girls.
In Bulawayo Madinda and his young brothers used to enjoy playing a variety of sports at the then popular city council run youth clubs. It was then that he developed a special interest in soccer.

The way Madinda articulate his stories comes along as someone so intelligent! Young players are lucky to have him as their coach! Peaty I was too young to have fully witnessed him play! I would love to sit with him and write a book about him! Such an inspiration!!

1991, at NSS, madinda and Vitalis came in as substitute and turned the game around. The Cameroon defense could not cope with Khatazile' speed. He stretched them so much that they started leaving the centre of the defense trying to have more than one man to mark him. That's how Agent exploited the space created at the centre of the Cameroon defense to score that goal

On that Cameron game Madhinda, you made a run, from the right back to the left wing and you put the ball on vitalis takwira, not pass to him but left the ball in in his feet . What a pin point cross from vitalis to Agent Ajira Sawu, back of the net. 1-0 we blasted them. Cameron. And vitalis again continued to haunt Cameron. Dennis Ndee, red carded and zimbabwe won 4-1 at home.

So picture this Rufaro stadium 1987 ZW vs Swaziland. I'm 8 years old and my dad has just taken me to my 1st soccer game. Second half substitute, some bald guy I had never heard of comes on and I'm thinking what the hell? Mind you all I ever knew was that when bald you're old and can't run. That's what I grew up around. Madinda changed all of that. Attacking the Musika end, he took the midfielder who was closest to him towards the goal. Ahead of him though was a defender lying in wait. Surprisingly (to me) Madinda turned to go back towards our own goal (the Cemetery end) . With two players either side of him one on the left and the other on the right he took them back running at full pelt (with the ball at his feet) towards the Cemetery end.As he got to the half way line, Madinda stopped the ball, ran a few steps further into our own half, turned back leaving these guys for dead, picked up the ball from the half way line and relaunched the attack. Zimbabwe won 6-1 I must add. Legendary Warrior. Bosso Icon , pamakatamba makitifadza Baba. Thank you for doing that interview. For once I have actually heard one of my heroes in their own words.
