Unborn Turnip Too long a story for here, but the nutshell is that she lived with me for a week when I was a 23 year old Seattle musician/engineer in 1975, to kick heroin, cold turkey (unbeknownst to me at the time!). This was long after her two albums, when she didn’t have a deal, people were forgetting about her and after a car accident, she was in pain pretty much all the time. She was a unique cauldron of conflicting characteristics - profound wisdom mixed with questionable decision making ability ; ambition with self defeat; cautious attention to detail with reckless abandon; raging anger with genuine sweetness; strength and weakness; hope and bitterness; and always that crazy talent.. @Don Fatale My experience w/her was that she had either a piano tune or a guitar tune and didn't ever cross over from the instrument for which it was written, at least that I ever saw.. Definitely glad she's being remembered! Didn't get nearly the credit she deserved; some brought on by her own difficult personality and some just because that's the mercurial nature of recognition..

1:30 this version reminds me of some of the melodic shapes in Liz Phair’s Exile in Guyville which leads me to wonder if Liz had been influenced by the music of Jude Sill. Anyway this is a beautiful version of a truly beautiful song

Wowser! I am at the age where all my main musical influences were from the 70's, a decade where we were for sure spoilt for choice. To be honest I had all but given up with the latest generation of mostly mediocre copycats and then .. I saw this. The voice of an angel. I have learnt many things throughout my career but one that sticks out is, regardless of one's technical level, the most important thing is you either "get it" or you don't "get it". As a bass player an example of that would be Tina Weymouth from Talking Heads. Her technique is what some would call basic but what she does with it moves me every time. Madison .. you get it. This is beautiful. Thank you.
