Shoutout Laura Leishman, that was a great interview. it's not easy to be in the same room as a guy like madlib when he's into his cratedigging vibe, not kill it and still get the interview done. you did a great job.

he is just a thief like all other hip hop 'producers' ....first seconds of that sun ra tune is way more impressive than the whole madlib discography....I wouldn't go so far and compare him to jazz musicians as he isn't a musician... Just a guy with a sampler and a bit of music knowledge

Greg Turner there were some samples those records... but madlib can play hella instruments, knows how to fit music together, knows every aspect of digging for records, and most importantly knows how to put together a dope track

We were playing piano at Porcelain in Ridgewood, Queens at an afterparty for Madlib's show in Brooklyn. He told us, "you sound like Sun Ra. you play weird". We love Otis and Sonny. Thank you for keeping us inspired!

When you listen to madlib or a j Dilla beat, it's as if time freezes around you and you go into another world. The moment you take your headphones off, you want to go back to that world. Their music is on another level and I'm glad to experience this journey while madlib is still hear. RIP King Dilla.

I wish there were more girls like her around that dig this type of music. Females I speak to don't pay that music no mind. They will get quiet, but as soon as cardi b or something like that plays they moving around smh. There's a small amount of them that do enjoy this music but it's super rare that you'll come across them.
