The whole aesthetic of beat making is insanely good, going around looking for crates enjoying watching great cover art from them records, picking some and then heading back home to the lab and getting down to work listening to new music and creating with them headphones and machines it's just so satisfying to me, the machines, the beat tapes, the work that it takes to make beats.. this is what sampling is about, it's about the culture.

Watching this really threw me for off, mostly because I'm beginning to see the importance of paying homage in sampling. I usually find samples on youtube that are in a playlist for "Stuff to sample" but seeing cats like Madlib or Dilla, or really any legendary producer who digs through the crates, I see why it's so much better to go back to the basics, because it's that raw sound, energy, feeling, and what can really make or break a beat or song for that matter.
