You can hear the echos of hundreds of years worth of culture and music history in every track on this album. So many beautiful melodies and textures from every era, background and lineage compiled and collaged together by a couple of true heads. To say this album is a masterpiece really is an understatement..the spirits of all the greats, from jazz musicians to brazilian funk drummers, alive once again to create the ultimate afterlife supergroup album. I can definitely feel Dilla and DOOMs presence here too. Enough waffle but it made me feel the same as when I heard Untrue for the first time. Chills. Thanks.

Got off work yesterday excited as hell to listen to this album and ended up playing it 4 times start to finish since then... Absolute masterpiece in the upper echelon of Madlib's expansive discography. Four tet did a killer job with the sound engineering. Project sounds so polished in comparison to the lofi hip hop standard present on MOST madlib projects. Perfect album start to finish and a true testament to the longevity of Otis Jackson. I know it took a few minutes to convince the average bug-a-boo, but lets stop talking about DOOM, and give madlib the credit he deserves. Mans produced 90+ projects, 1 of which was with DOOM, and now the laggards can't do anything but talk about DOOM when Madlib just dropped EASILY one of the greatest hip hop projects in the last 10 years. Hats off to Otis Jackson and Kieran Hebden. Brain dance meets hip hop done right.
