The second episode of the No Suit Survival series for Space Engineers. This week we try to fix the rover (again) in order to increase our production and maintain a healthy supply of Ice. Mod List: steamcommunity...

I feel like with the amount of time you spend speaking to the survival kit you should probably name it and change the lcd to a face. :)

I know this is old but I was thinking the same thing except the to-do list would be perfect to go on it

@@1fortheroad1 Welcome aboard! You're in a for a good series, it holds up and a to-do list does get built. =D

In these scenarios, I love building proper airlocks with: -A dedicated o2 tank -its own air vents -button panel to toggle the sequence -conveyors separated so that the airlock's o2 tank doesn't get so full it can't suck the air out of the chamber. Depending on the size of the airlock's o2 tank, it also acts as a backup in case of depressurization in the main base via manual override.
@IVizir3 жыл бұрын
U can build an air vent on the outside set to depressurize and it will suck the o2 from the planet. An o2 tank is a good idea as well.

This.
@MadMavn3 жыл бұрын
That is a great idea. I actually started working on that in Ep 3. I just kept getting so distracted with that dang rover that I didn't see a solution right in front of me hahaha. I appreciate the advice :D
@craftman780 Жыл бұрын
That actually works?? 😮
@IVizir Жыл бұрын
@@craftman780 yeah, if theres atmo in the planet, even if its low, an air vent outside, set do depressurize will suck air to the system, filling the tanks.

Drills are actually really strong. You can literally use them as kinetic missiles, and they will go straight through armor.
@dham992 жыл бұрын
A long time ago i remember someone setting up an air lock between two doors, that would pressurize/depressurize into a tank every time. You can set up a timer and what not on the doors...so you hit the button, within a few seconds the o2 goes into the tank, door opens, room pressurizes, and inner door opens.

Instead of the third correctly positioned wheel, place it flat horizontally and set its friction, steering and power to zero. It then effectively acts as a ski

That ridiculous vehicle is reason enough to keep watching this lol. Touché man, I have literally tens of thousands of hours in SE and it's rare that I see someone do something so original as drive around in a duck mobile lol.

Having an Automated/programmed airlock would save you time and oxygen coming into and leaving your base.

Man, I wish I could finish this episode tonight, but I cant. I will say this. I would prolly have a blast playing on a server with you just because of your can do attitude. The Earth could explode and you would be like "Well, Im glad my car was insured"

I appreciate you saying that man! I try to have a can do attitude despite the lightning hahaha! Also is SE car insurance a projector lol?

Ya dude, you do good. I actually went ahead and downloaded that world earlier today so whenever I get a chance I'm going to check it out and try it for myself. It would force me to have to use drones and learn about them a bit more. I've only ever made one drone and it's pretty cool. I named it Rufus because I made it to you sensors to follow you around or Target enemies and sometimes whenever it's following you it likes to wag its tail xD

I don’t remember if it’s true but the survival kit actually refines stone better than the basic refinery, so while it’s slower it’s more efficient.

Two drills with a piston adjustable wheel in the center would be cool.
@kahwigulum5 ай бұрын
i know the series is over, but you can put a vent on the outside of the building (and the outside of your rover), set it to always depressurize, and it will feed pressurized oxygen to your cockpit and the bases internal air vent all of the time. no need for ice to convert to o2 as long as there is some atmosphere on the planet.
@becausereasons85072 жыл бұрын
This series made me download Space Engineers again.
@irineiovcnaosabenemeu43582 жыл бұрын
You could place a timer attached to a vent to remove the oxigen of the airlock and bring it back to the base so you don't lose oxigen from leaving and entering
@LaszloIvanyi2 жыл бұрын
You should build a base inside / on the side of that mountain at 26:59. Water is close, nice view, and would be easier to recognize to come home to a mountain base then to the middle of nowhere. Your supervisors choose a poor place for a base, you know better :D

There was an absolutely beautiful bug that made it where headless pistons were really resistant to impacts making the three wheeled rover very possible

I'm actually impressed your base wasn't destroyed by lightning AGAIN because you postponed the garage or miner cover with port. Going to ep. 3 right now. Good work dude. Love it. I own the game. But your entertaining me more 😂
@garrettrogers10562 жыл бұрын
afaik drills are immune to impact damage, so realistically you should be fine, especially at such low speeds.

Funfact: storms (on earth at least) usually end up bringing a higher amount of oxygen to the local area, hence why you can smell raun coming

For oxygen in the base you could put a vent on the roof and set it to depressurize and it will feed oxygen into the base

Yeah, that's an annoying thing I've found with my Survival Kits: they just take Stone and hang onto it; Aww Scrap scrap, too. I finally just decided to fill up its input inventory with Gravel to clog it so it'll STOP, but it's really, really frustrating. Isy's Inventory Manager helps a bit with that kinda thing, but that can be a whole rabbit hole in itself to get dialed in. Love the series, and it's a fascinating idea for a challenge. :-)

This is a situation wherein my first instinct would have been to put a 1x1 wheel on the end of that tricycle piston, hub down, with 0 friction. Much more space-efficient.
@entropic-decay2 жыл бұрын
my personal approach to this sort of challenge would be to work towards building a small-grid walker with multitool arms - saw and welder on one arm, machine gun on the other in case I run into an enemy

Did you go with only 2 wheels because of the lightning storms? This is a fascinating series!

Would be cool if these mods let you use a collector block to capture rain water.

Part of the issue with your o2 is your airlock is way to long your losing 3 blocks worth of air every time you open it to the outside, if you don't want a vent in your air lock a sliding door with an offset door would be better
@jppanda4634 Жыл бұрын
Just an idea airlock mod block would take less space and be less annoying going through an airlock

Vents. Vents are your best friend in low O2 environs lol. That Survival Impossible set-up is harsh my dude Just got ep12 recommended so started from the beginning. Gonna lend you a sub since you are at 962 so far and I think 1k is monetization. Keep entertaining and will keep watching :D Edit: Yeah, also get your production stuff underground would be a great idea

One thing that is missing from this game is the fact that itens like a cockpit should be able to be moved and connected again without being destroyed, this applies even more if you are playing with the all scrap mod.

Hey, just found your channel. I know it's young, but you should be more popular. You're funny, and have the same sort of interesting/chill vibe as I get watching splitsie & capac. For advice, I use offset doors/sliding doors to make an airlock, this leaves room for a vent in the floor/ceiling always on depressurise to save all the air otherwise lost.

still early in the series so idk whats to come but if you use a backwards vent with a button you can pipe the air in your airlock back into yourbase with no need for a tank....

Drills are alot more durable than they seem, I literally survived a crash from orbit because I landed on my drills. They didn't even take any damage. It was a small grid ship btw
@nikkiofthevalley2 жыл бұрын
"orbit" (SE's orbital mechanics don't make any sense as a KSP player, so I doubt you were actually in orbit, instead of just floating there magically)

Just to let you know - when your mouse is over an item in the selection - press the middle mouse button and it will automatically go to the build list... the more times you press the middle mouse the more times the item will go into the build menu.
