Hey Mick, Great stuff with the vids, just getting into lures, what rods over 7 ft can I look at I need a little more distance

Hey mate, what rods are you using at the moment and what fish are you chasing where? A good lure flicking rod and reel should be able to get the plastics to the right area. My biggest rod is 7 foot. I do have an 8 foot beach lure rod though

Hey Mick, Thanks for the reply, I called into a local tackle store they advised me to purchase a Atomic Arrowz rod 6-12lb fitted with a 2500 reel, I am an old bait fisherman but watching your vids has prompted me to maybe change my mind set a little as I see the ease and excitement when fishing with lures, is the rod I have purchased to heavy and am I on the right track. @@wapanuiable I think that’s a good choice. The weight of the rod will catch the little fish but also have enough power to help you control the big one too. The 2500 reels are the size that I run spooled with 10lb braid and 10 lb leader. Using braid will give you that extra distance in your cast 👌🏻 you can go up to 12 or even 14lb leader especially for chasing Flathead. I think you have made a great purchase and I’m telling you it’s addictive. Once you get your first fish on a lure you’ll be hooked as well. Hey mate, I don’t actually make these lures myself however I know of a website called “you make ‘em soft plastics” that has everything you need to get started 👌🏻
