Hi! Older generation Scene Kid here. Back in my MySpace days, people really didn’t care a lot about hair because many parents wouldn’t let their kids have their hair a certain way (I grew up in Alabama so parents are strict) You could style it any way you wanted as long as you had “the swoop” bangs. It wasn’t until around 2011 when the scene kids began to start branching out with hair styles. Idk, I’m just glad to see it coming back in style & me as a 26 year old can wear kandi bracelets & scene hair without judgement ❤️

I have long, thick, curly hair. I used to spend 2+ hours every morning straightening it. Then I would bring my straightener to school and restraighten it so it was perfect. I also used to just straighten my bangs and leave the rest of my hair curly. But you can definitely just leave your hair curly and still have scene hair. I pretty much do that now.

I have thick curly hair. It’s a pain lol. I used to have my hair (short, but) straight all the time but I think it was damaging it and drying it out, I don’t know lol. I still haven’t dyed it yet, but I’d hope to eventually. I always admired girls with straight hair and yours is so pretty!! I need to straighten mine out again :0

I am 30 years old, coming from the My Space era. You win. I agree with everything you say. Scene isn't meant to stay the same, it's meant to be unique to the person, to MAKE A SCENE.

I’m an older generation scene kid and, while I had the bangs and the purple hair, I never got to reach my full scene potential back in the day. Now that I’m an adult I can do whatever I want and at some point I am DEFINITELY bringing back the scene look. Glad to see people are still rocking this style! 💖

The best takeaway from all of your videos is more important than anything to do with the look. It's about being who you want to be, and that it's okay to express it in any way you want. If it doesn't exactly fit the "formula", so what? The whole point of scene or any other aesthetic or vibe is that it doesn't exactly fit the mainstream formula. You're like the Mister Rogers of scene, and self esteem.

So like, as a biracial scene kid, I've been wanting to cut my hair... but it's naturally VERY curly, and I know that scene hair is supposed to be straight. I'm been pretty nervous to cut it, but I think after watching dis imma do it, curly hair and all ^_^!!

As you see to your left (my profile pic) this was me in highschool, in 2012, my scene hair. I have thin hair and the scene haircut is so hard to maintain. I had a mohawk for a while and now I want my scene hair again. It never gets old, no matter how old you are. Here I am, 27, and still being scene. Guys, it's not a phase haha. Live it up! 6 years ago when I was 14 I always wanted scene hair but didn't know what I was doing so I just went with the flow and dyed my hair different colors all the time and still doing it lol
