Madness On Top of Buckingham Palace

Madness singing their 1980s hit "Our House" in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert, with extracts from their performance on the BBC TV's "Top of the Pops" program from that time.
36 extremely high powered digital projectors were required to produce the images on the palace wall.

There was always a big sense of humour in those videos from Madness. I always found a major oversight for not inviting Madnes to the two Live Aids. Then, they know how to play with th crowd with their music.

They were a good couple of years past their commercial peak so I doubt they were ever seriously considered. Mind you, Geldof has admitted that Slade (still having top 20 hits in the UK and Europe plus as a live act at their post-glam tight as f@@@ melodic metal machine best), Aswad and The Smiths were on his initial Live Aid wants list as he thought them the three best live acts in Britain at the time until Goldsmith talked him out of asking them, so who knows. They were however, along with along with Eminem, Ozzy Osbourne and Oasis, conspicuous by their absence from the London 2005 Live 6 concert.
