Lisa, I have no idea why you are taking so much grief for your comments, what you said is the truth, people need to wake up, the justice system, the political system, the banking system, the educational system is rigged to give priority to the rich. After all they have bought and paid for it with the backhanders. People need to wake up before we all become slaves to the greed and deception, is it not obvious by now that there has been systematic breakup of the very fabric of society, look around, homelessness, poverty, hunger. its a wave of terror against the poor. Corporations refuse to pay their fair share to contribute to a decent society, a few at the top insulated against any upset, unions crushed, charities struggle under the weight of the needs. people were sold into the idea that a college education was protection against poverty, now the banks own them and guide their working life and the lives of their families, This is not freedom.

I read Stephanie's book. While I could feel pity for her loss, she turned me off with her sense of entitlement. She scoffed at the lawsuit for $2000 filed against their daughter Audrey by the trustee overseeing the case for the Madoff victims, saying that was less than the price to send a kid to private school for a year. WTF, Stephanie? Your father in law STOLE that money from someone. It didn't rightfully belong to your daughter. Bernard Madoff hadn't made an honest dollar in years. The money Mark and Andy generated in the legitimate market making business was siphoned to help keep the fraud afloat.

let me ask you an honest question. Is it possible for a person to love another person that has money and have money not be the primary factor? For example, say you fall in love with someone and they hide the secret that they're rich for a while. You fall in love with them. Then they take it to the next level and the person who's well off shares the news. Does the person who's not rich have to back out of the relationship at that point? Are you saying that doesn't happen? In other words, your implication is that's it's not possible to see someone with someone else with money and have it not be a case of gold digging. Seriously man, just go work hard and do something with yourself and stop twisting the world to suit your convenient views that make it ok for you to stay a bum.

So by that knowledge, and just my opinion that I did not elaborate earlier, I believe they are in better position than most people whose savings completely wiped off. And who knows their other savings that they have. Bernie and Ruth tried to send 1 million worth of jewelry to their relative during Bernie home arrest. I am so sorry to hear about the 3 suicides in your family. It really hurts the survivors for years. My friend lost money with Madoff and recommended others to invest with him. Now I have lost in Terra eco system and Celsius. Even I must fight off thoughts of suicide. I know it would affect my family in a bad way. I told them what happened, how I lost three generations of wealth and my own fifty-five years of hard work. So far, my family has not accused me of anything bad. I think they are in shock, as they have not criticized or commented on my financial demise. I had hoped to leave each family member with some inheritance when I die. Now it is gone. I am filled with negative thoughts everyday and feel worthless. I am a Christian, so I pray everyday to My Lord and ask Him for guidance.

@@suehaynie5054 Why should you forgive Madoff? It is good for your emotional well being to do so. But, did Madoff repent? Did he try to make restitution? Did Madoff ask you for forgiveness? No? Then you have no need to forgive Madoff. Did Our Lord and only Savior, Jesus Christ, forgive Satan? No! Because in the full sight and knowledge of God, Satan chose to try to unseat and be God. Satan has already been judged and condemned to eternal fire in Hell, though the sentence has not been carried out yet, for a very special reason. You do not have to forgive Bernie Madoff!

@@thomaspick4123 Christianity is the forgiveness of sins and nothing else. Jesus said that if you forgive others you will be forgiven but if you do not forgive others you will not be forgiven.
