This is a doujin (basically, indie) work, which means it is a self published (fan) work (that has nothing to do with the creators of the original anime/manga/video game/etc) These works are usually released at big events such as Comiket, Reitaisai, or M3 and their groups are called 'Circles,' there are tons of Circles at each event. This is a fan-based work which was made by Visual Work Station and then asked Chata, a popular singer to sing the lyrics to the song they arranged.

I once read that it's because if we saw from Homuras perspective in the series then we'd realize what's happening from the beginning so watching it from Madokas perspective or the one who actually got to see everything until the end was a good call. Then in Rebellion it was from Homuras perspective because if we were seeing everything from anyone else's perspective we'd know what's going on around the same time Sayaka and Homura talked since Nagisa told Mami what was happening around the time Sayaka and Homura were having their conversation and the conversation with Kyubey happened a while afterwards. It was around that time that Madoka and Kyoko also got informed. So basically Homura was the last to be informed of that. Because of the end of Rebellion and how it's been going we won't see Walpurgisnacht Rising from Sayakas or Homuras perspectives so that leaves Madoka, Mami, Kyoko or Nagisa.

Since her wish was to 're-do her meeting with Madoka', her powers were probably limited and stopped her from being able to go any further than that day when she was being transferred and started the school. If she had no limits on her time travel, though, that's probably what she would have done.

She went thorugh the cycle countless times - and did not age. So she probably reverts to how she was at the time where (when) she jumps to, more rewinding time than time travel. She was in hospital prior to the events, so maybe she was just too weak/ill/hurt/whatever. While fixing her eyesight is something she can do, healing herself completely from whatever she had is probably out of question.

Johnny Means You didn’t understand the Rebellion movie at all. How do you mean Homura ruined all the Magical girls’ lives by removing Madoka as the law of cycles? She let the incubators replace that role for her. The idea that she lets all the girls be there only for Madoka to be happy is bullshit, they all have their own joyful lives and Madoka does not even know them in the new world that Homura created. Hell, in the first place, the whole magical girl system doesn’t even exist anymore so no one has to suffer EXCEPT for Homura. She carries the burden of being alone with no one who understands her or knows of anything that has happened in the past timelines. So Homura did nothing wrong, she made the best decision, so get over it.

Word from the author already says otherwise, but I like to think of Walpurgisnacht as Homura's witch form drifting BACKWARDS in time from some later point in which she had finally given up. Beacuse Homura's wish was "To redo her meeting with Madoka." and not "To become a temporal assassin, and take out anyone who tries to harm Madoka."... Homura's time travel isn't an an ability she controls at will, but is activated by her invoking her wish. The scope of the wish limits how far Homura can travel back in time. From a time travel mechanics angle, Walpurgis likely existed before Homura was born. Homura doesn't have a version of herself to "replace" in order to make the hit...

It's the version of time travel where the traveller replaces themselves in a previous point in a given timeline. It eliminates the possibility of the traveller meeting themselves and eliminates the chance of them doing something that would cause a time paradox that would destroy the space time continuum. She does not age because she's basically a immortal lich. Any illness she had would either have no effect her magically altered body, or can just be fixed like her myopia.

In terms of speaking "Such a short amount of time," is not from an outside perspective, one shouldn't experience those kind of things at such a age so fast. Homura tasted despair at it's finest. From Homura's perspective, she knew how much time she had, counting the days, as for every set back, it was like a new life. As she continued on time to her was lost, from her view there was no such thing as time. One cannot judge time if they're no longer part of that original timeline, an outsider.

-Just gonna jump in- Lyrical Nanoha was indeed the bridge of the darker side of Mahou Shoujo Anime, of course every Mahou Shoujo I believe will have some stereotype to it, Madoka is no exception (however they smashed most of those beliefs.) With the movies coming out for Nanoha, it's going to become more brutal and more depressing like the first movie. As a big fan of both Nanoha and Madoka, I can't wait to see how Mahou Shoujo Anime will further evolve.

Yep. Especially when it hits you that the OP theme CONNECT is being sung from Homura's prospective after watching episode 11. There was a very good reason why the OP was played at the end of that episode instead of at the beginning.

I love the art-style in this, I wish the actual anime had this style though :P

Walpurgisnacht is a fusion of multiple witches. Like how a tornado gets stronger by fusing with others. The way Kyubey and Kyouko refer to her it seems like Walpurgis has existed for a long time and has just rarely shown herself. Homura always travels back to shortly before she is released from the hospital, because her wish was to meet Madoka again. Maybe she can't go back any further.
