I think that's a very true statement - the only time any other female reached a glimpse of Madonna's major success between 1985 and 1992 is Gaga in 2010-2011 - but it wasn't as impactful as the Madonne of the mid-80's to early 1990's. As far as the Adele's, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Beyonce of this world, their success is nowhere close to the days of Madonna. The 10 years Madonna enjoyed have literally never seen before or after - her and Michael Jackson were at a complete different level to any other star

I was there…just graduated high school and rode with my two friends from Tampa to Miami. Had to lie to my dad where I was going.It was so hot and had poured before, crazy rain and lighting. Then it stopped…for the Queen. Opening night of the US portion of the tour.Unforgettable. And this was my favorite song right then…from the newly released Who’s That Girl Soundtrack.

I remember this. I was 14 and obsessed with Madonna. MTV was there and broadcast this on MTV. It was the opening night of her tour. Mark Goodman was in the audience. This song was her single at the time so this is the song played on MTV. I believe it was raining and the show was late. I taped this on VHS off MTV. I wish I still had my tapes! This was my first concert. I went in August.

Awesome post. I was 14 as well. Yep, Mark Goodman Mr. Mtv himself was there, I remember I had to go the concert all alone because NONE of my cousins would go with me. The tickets were 35 dollars which seemed like a million dollars back then -thank God my aunt got me a ticket! I was a Madonna maniac, Janet, Whitney, Cyndi!! loved them!!! - I was so crazed over Madonna - I even called the Fountain-blue Hotel where she was staying and was like "Is Madonna there?! Did you see her? What did she say? Ha...good times. Fun concert!

+Jamie Coniam Don't be ridiculous. On the last tour, Rebel Heart, Madonna sang live almost 90% in each show with almost 2 hours. Iconic, Burning Up, True Blue, Deeper and Deeper, Like a Virgin, Living for Love, La Isla Bonita, the 80s Meddley, Who's That Girl, Music, Candy Shop, Material Girl, La Vie en rose and Holiday. On most of this songs she sung WITHOUT backing track. Plus all the request songs were live singing: Ghosttown, Secret, Crazy For You, Open Your Heart, Frozen, Don't Tell Me... she even mistaken on some lyrics leaving no doubt that it was totally sung live

Yes such a great tour and had maximum energy, passion and sharpness. The musicians are top level and there's something magical about madonna during this time period. Still listen to the whos that girl tour dvd even after all this time due to it's brilliance

I was at this show, 6th row to the far left on the aisle facing the stage. Intense rain beforehand forced openers Level 42 to cancel but luckily it stopped so Madge could get on with the show! And I definitely remember Donna slipping and recovering nicely as she moved offstage on that conveyor belt!
