Yeah, the lower key gives off the vibe of an older woman, who has lived a full life, resigned to her lot in life. It gives off a more detached, resigned feel.

got goosebumps several times and i cried in the end. i didn't think another performance of drowned world would omg i am crying would move me so much again after is saw the confessions one. this is what we need intimacy and an acoustic concert by Madonna this is unbelievable

@music box I 100% totally feel where you're coming from. This was the night that I saw Madonna live in London @o2 arena 2nd December 2015 😍🤗 1st time I'd been to see her, on my own. But wow- this performance truly was emotional on so many levels. My tears just wouldn't stop, but in a beautiful meaningful sense. Let's just say, there were a lot of tears she'd during this song. Even with True Blue, I had happy tears whilst attempting to still sing along 😢🤗 I get what u meant regarding her performance of this from Confessions Tour (also beautiful) but for me, this cannot & shouldn't be compared to previous shows/recordings/versions-EVER!! This was her personal choice, for her set list, on this particular night. What a stunning choice, it was 😢😍❌ The night before, her choice was Like a Prayer, for World Aids Day 1st December 2015 with another personal message. (Also anniversary of the loss of her mother too) That must have been an exceptionally emotional show to perform. But this performance definitely stays true to me personally on an emotional level. Long may she Reign 👑❌

David Collins. He was a friend of hers, an Irish architect. They met in London when she was recording soundtrack to Evita. He wrote her a poem which are part of the lyrics to this song. Sadly he died of skin cancer a couple of years before this tour
