Artists back in the days were all unique personalities, and it showed in their art and on stage. She is doing almost 100 shows, sometime without a day break between two shows. She could just stay there without moving or just sit (like Cher) but she is fully engaged in the show. If she cancels 10 shows of 100 its totally normal, whatever you are 30 yo or 61... just try to be in her shoes...of course, no one can! I just hope she won't cancel the show I have tickets for!!! ;)

I wouldn’t say anyone missed it. For one she’s Madonna so she’s hard to miss and she wore a men’s suit and grabbed her crotch. Not sure how you would not catch what she’s trying to say. It was discussed openly at the time. The debate over gender roles isn’t new in the slightest. She wasn’t the first to play with them. That’s not to shade her but she wasn’t the first. For instance, Marlene Dietrich did it in the 1930’s and Madonna has done tributes to her. What I think Madonna did well was to make it an artistic and quasi-political statement while at the top of her career - which was pretty daring of her.

todays generation dont realise how much of a icon she is shes right up there with elvis and the beatles, for those of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s she ruled along with MJ whitney and prince and George Micheal

Fair comment I think. There have been any number of great musicians/singers/performers, but the real gamechangers are few and far between. Elvis and The Beatles are obvious, but I would put Madonna in the same bracket.

I can't wait to see Julia Garner do this performance in Madonna's visual autobiography. It will be epic.

'Iconic' doesn't even begin to describe Madonna.

This concert had 55,000 audience. Every girl dressed like her and every boy wanted her!! Back in the early 90's Madonna was a force like no other in music. The stores couldn't keep her albums on the shelf, sold out T-shirts, her concerts sold out in minutes, and very hard to get tickets

lol...I crack up each time I see this, and how @ 4:03 the bassist includes himself in the choreography -- as if to give a shout-out to his 'boys' at home, then he simply hops back in with the band, not missing a beat. I have nutty friends that would do just that! Props to the bassist! Never was the biggest Madonna fan, but as the so-called 'music' business becomes more and more a joke, this single performance still remains one of the most energetic opening numbers I've seen-- regardless the genre of music. Regardless your opinion of her, Madonna-- in her prime-- was a more than credible all-around entertainer.
