Madonna - Future Lovers CT Reaction/Review

This concert was the first and only time I saw Madonna live. I was thirteen and my mom and dad spontaneously proposed to go the whole family to watch the confessions tour in Rome, as a gift to me. We waited infinite hours outside under the sun full August. My mom and sister felt sick and almost fainted. The guys in the ambulance took care of them and my dad and I kept standing till the doors opened. Nowadays I still have the vivid memory of the massive noise I heard when the disco ball opened with Madonna inside. People in the whole stadium went craaazyyyyy! It was like an explosion! I couldn’t believe to what I was witnessing it’s one of the most moving thing I’ve ever experienced! Even my sister who wasn’t a Madonna stan and always criticised her, she was speechless and under the Madonna effect. I think that the power of this artist truly comes out when she’s on stage. Thats when she’s in her element. You just can’t be indifferent to it! It was so worth it and I’m so grateful to my parents for that! ❤️

Yay confessions! I was five rows back in Miami. Gloria Estefan was sitting behind me. I saw Madonna’s facial expressions and eyes…pure magick!!! As Madonna mega fan since nine years old, this was an absolute dream come true. I still look back up this night and get tingles. My favorite night of my life. I love the boyfriend who came with me too. That’s a special bond one can never break even if you break up. I agree this is Madonna at her finest. MDNA had a lot of this quality too. So there’s still more greatness to come!

I think the fact that Madonna is a trained dancer herself means she can elevate her dancers to be integral to the performance, whereas many pop stars tend to benefit from a simpler choreography and staging, otherwise they get lost in the process. I saw this tour five times at MSG and once in San Jose. She was incredible every night, even when complaining about insomnia! 💛

I love this tour seen it twice! I have a great story. On the second time my sister decided to join and bought a ticket at venue and took her date..her seats was up on tip top behind stage worst of all time! I would have given my life to see this live although i saw the complete tour online. Love it so much. The visuals, the sets of the stage, the photography, the costumes are all on point. Saw this in Rome and two times in Paris, and I wish I went to more shows! It was fantastic, also that era was so huge that the energy in the stadium (in Rome) and the arena (in Paris) was electric since everybody and not only fans loved the album! Jean-Paul Gaultier did the costumes. I think he contributes to nearly every tour, but most notably 1990's Blond Ambition. She's worn his designs since the beginning. I recently discovered he designed her dress for the 1985 the Desperately Seeking Susan premier, but I'm not sure it's bespoke. So happy to see you two!

I was standing in front of the disco ball and it was otherworldly to see her so close for the very first time. I even could see her entering the ball from underneath the stage. And when that ball opened, OMG that was insane! I've seen previous shows until then, but this was the best experience and maybe even better than everything I saw later. Yes, still my favorite tour, not saying she didn't do great shows later, she did!!! Just different! It's Madonna at her peak in her career, having hit songs in the charts and reaching mainstream audiences still. I re-watched it over and over again and still can't get enough, so good job to do it like this ladies! Although I still would love to see your very first reaction, can't you just cut it up and edit it? Or maybe one day it will be released from KZbin jail, so we can see it later. Among the many amazing and spectacular things about this tour is that ten months earlier, she suffered a horse riding accident where she was hospitalized and had to recover from multiple fractures/broken bones. I think the symbolism of the choreo of this opening number is: she’s not going to be fazed by set backs-she’s experienced a fair share in her life and career. She’d get up again and again, until she overcome the challenge-here, of learning how to master riding a horse and by extension how to deal/manage men. Another standout in this tour is the state-of-the art staging, reportedly totaling 70 tons of staging equipment that needed: 2 cargo planes to transport; 24-semi trucks, 5 buses, 18 vans and cars to haul the equipment from city to city. The crown jewel of the staging is the giant disco ball she rode in-encrusted with $2M worth of Swarovski crystals. Yes, tickets to her concert are expensive, but her manager once said that she spares no expense in staging and producing her tours that her cost often cuts into her profit margins. Whether producing her music videos or tours, for Madonna, great art is priceless; it’s worth the cost. I went! My friend and I got up the nerve to sneak from the way back to the side where she sang Like A Virgin. Eye line sight. We made eye contact when she was on the horse. My blood froze. She held my gaze for a second or 2 longer than she should. Why? And just like that her steely almost robot gaze was gone and so was she. It was a moment. 😮😅

I was more shocked by her announcement of her 2 night engagement in my hometown, Fresno, California. Stunned, and excited, both nights were like a dream. I intended to catch her 2 nights in Las Vegas (where I usually go to see her) until Fresno was announced and added to her California stops. It was surreal. I got to take a picture with 2 of her dancers (the 2 Frenchmen with long hair that are in the Get Together number-want to say their name was Stephen & Norman) they were hanging out in the parking lot near the entrance to the arena. Nice as can be. Had great view 1st night, but second night, was about 15ft away from her as my seat was right next to that long walkway stage and almost near the end of the smaller satellite stage going into the audience. The woman is gorgeous .

I was asked to see this concert at the Forum in Los Angeles. When we arrived a couple hours early there was no one in the parking lot. I called my friend that invited us and said I think we have the wrong night... we weren't. Eventually people started showing up, and we got to the door and they checked us in and said grab a seat and enjoy. Come to find out it was the final dress rehearsal concert for the top brass at paramount pictures, and friends and family. Every celebrity in LA was at that show surrounding us that evening. We were seated next to the runway, although I don't think I sat down one time. We also got great swag bags and merch. A night I'll never forrget.

Hi Ladies, Sorry, been a while. I hope you both are well. ❤ 1 thing I've noticed about Madonna's performances, not videos, is her impeccable sense of timing when it comes to props and sound effects. In this, the riding crop, she swings it twice and the snap you hear is right on time, in the Vogue performance, in the whole Marie Antoinette set, the snap of the fans opening also Donna and Nikki right on point, and the Gang Bang sequence the whole fighting and gunfire just fits perfectly. I would be going 1,2,3,4,snap,1, 2,3 4, and mess it all up. She probably gets tgat from her dance training because a lot of that is timing.

And I loved the transition into’I Feel Love’ I attended the Madison Square Garden show and yes at the time the injury was a big topic and concern. But but the crowd at MSG was so loving . I was right up close in London and was actually a bit shocked at how fine and delicate her face was...almost translucent like. It also took me a while to realise she wasn't hanging in the disco ball for 3 hours before the show starts and actually climbed into it from underneath the stage through the hatch..haha

@ that was all filmed on the final night of her 8-night London residency - which was her 48th birthday. She filmed a few bits along the catwalk on the 6th night, then the main stage footage was mostly filmed on the 7th night and the end of catwalk was mostly filmed on her birthday on the 8th night. We all sang Happy Birthday with her when her backing singers surprised her after Drowned World but they didn’t include that in the DVD. But yes. A magical experience to be that close and see the show from that perspective - we were very lucky back then.

the third time i saw her live, in the middle of the catwalk at the 3rd show(LA) of the tour!!! Photographer Steven Klien and her collaborated on her second photoshoot for W Magazine and gave us the equestrian photos that became the intro to the Confession Tour(their first collaboration was W in 2003 which became the intro video for the Re-InVention Tour and he shot the video for the Vogue backdrop video for RIT and its tour book). Horses are used to represent power, energy and freedom. For The Confessions Tour each act is a type of Confession and for the first act i think its Confessions on what is important to her. Future Lovers is her confession on her art and work being important to her. i generally dont catch all the details and symbols when i am at the concert because i cant take my eyes off her its usually on repeat viewing...saw her on The Re-InVention Tour, Coachella, The Confessions Tour, The Sticky and Sweet Tour(Nov 4, 2008 she told me Obama won), The MDNA Tour, The Rebel Heart Tour and twice on The Celebration Tour including seeing her on my birthday(Chicago and Palm Springs on my bday)....oh and she didn't come down in the disco ball she entrered it from the bottom once it landed

I was at one of the recorded shows. They filmed a few nights show because there is so much happening in the show in order to capture everything Jonas Akerland filmed multiple shows as she played two weeks of sold out shows at Londons Wembley Arena. So as I say we had tickets turned up and went to find out what our seats were like. We were at the end of the runway maybe 10 rows back but right in front of us was a huge TV camera. I thought right OK seats in normal circumstances have but in this case our view was going to be completely blocked. Anyway we went and got a pint each and went back to our seats and did some people watching. I love looking around the audience at one of her concerts and seeing all the fans who have got dressed up in one of her images. So anyway a woman came up to us with an American accent and I noticed she had a lanyard around her neck with a Live Nation access all areas backstage pass. She said are you happy with your seats because that big TV camera there is going be going up and down throughout the show. I was bummed but said hey we'll make the best of it and stand on our tip toes. So she said can you dance? I said well in my own way. Can you sing her sings, do you know the words I was like well I've been a fan since 1990 so yeah. So she said it is a shame about your view being blocked. Then she reached into her pocket and pulled out two A section seat tickets. She said if you promise to dance, sing and cheer as loud as you can I will give you these tickets!!! I said I would ngi crazy if we had those seats. So she said have a great night and gave us the tickets. Then said listen she will be able to see you from the stage and I'm going to tell her I bumped you up to first class and she will expect you dance and sing your heart out. So we left the section of seats abd and looked for the door marked on our tickets to enter by and when we walked in we were so close we could touch the stage. We were right under the left hand side stage and when she performed Like a Virgin she was right there in front of us. During the show we got eye contact a few times and two big heart warming smiles from her. An incredible night that will never be forgotten. Sorry about the massive long story but it was all just so special. ❤❤
