I agree with you 100%. And I think that people, in particular men, don't like seeing a woman being successful and relevant for decades. I think if Madonna never existed or if she chose a "normal" profession, women would feel less confident, not fighting for what they believe in. Every day I listen to Madonna, particularly Express Yourself, and it makes me have more love and respect for myself.

I believe she was definitely luminous in 1990-1991 on the outside. However, she definitely was not feeling the most beautiful on the inside. She was definitely unhappy from about 1989 - 1993, and you could tell here and here during this time period.

I will say that she has class and has never criticized or critiqued another celebrity. Unlike the nasty comments that Mariah, Whitney and Janet Jackson have made about Madonna on interviews and in print. But look at them now? Enough said!

Poor Mariah's last 3 albums have barely sold together the amount that "Hard Candy" sold worldwide alone!!!! @AndresChavez201 Mariah sings terrific. I respect her talent, but Mariah's been successful mostly in the US and she has more number one hits. Madonna may have lost her power in the States, but she's internationally successful and has definitely sold more albums than Mariah, Guiness just released that statement last year. And Madonna's music goes beyond just catchy pop songs. She made a culture, she had opinions. Madonna's impact goes beyond music.
