The friends that aske me to go to this concert weren't big Madoonna fans, but the tix were free so they said why not? I remember during this number looking back at them and they had there mouths hanging open and said Oh My God! I said, I told you that your in for a spectacle like you've never experienced before. They still talk about that show with awe.

Wow, this is my favorite performance of Music! It was incredible live. The bass was pounding throughout the arena. The audience was dancing and singing along it was so cool. Everything about it was perfection. Her dancers really are amazing throughout the entire show but especially here.

Madonna also homaged Tina Turner in that red sequined dress on the huge video monitors for the intro. I'm not sure if it's Tina's "Acid Queen" era but it's definitely the 1970s. I love how Music Inferno segued into Erotica on this tour. My all time favourite pair of her live (reimagined) songs back to back.

It is! It is almost the same dress Tina's using on the cover of Acid Queen. The sequence of Madonna dancing in this dress is also used as a backdrop for Get Together, alongside some videos of a photoshoot in which she's wearing a replica of the red dress Ann-Margret uses in the movie Tommy, from 1975. I love all the references from the 70s she's using in this era ♥

@barbierilucas Thanks for the Tina Turner info, much appreciated. Tommy was a film I only saw recently and I do need to rewatch it... Mashing up The Trammps 1976 "Disco Inferno" and Music was an inspired choice. Did you see the Confessions Tour concert in person? If so, you're very lucky. I feel glad to have seen her Blonde Ambition Tour summer 1990 (as an 18 year old) at Wembley Stadium, London. I only saw Confessions as a dvd release and was so totally impressed I wish I'd seen it live! Oh well. I know who Ann-Margaret is, but only as a Kristen Wiig performance on SNL. I will have to do some googling tonight. Thanks again. In 2007 I was working in central London and would walk to Charing Cross Station, through town in the summer, when the weather was good. As I was passing Coutts Bank, on The Strand, I saw Stewart Price having a chat with a man I can only assume was his financial advisor outside the bank on the pavement. Was really tempted to say hello and to tell him how much I liked the Confessions album. Just never felt able to interrupt his business talk. He did some great work after this on Christina's BIONIC album, my favourite composition is I AM.

This is such an amazing mix/performance! You not going to believe: But I have the wildest story when I went to see this tour at Madison Square Garden! I met Guy Oseary a few yrs before this tour, and somehow, I managed to get two tickets last min… and my seats were front row, seats 1 n 2! I still have all the pics I took!!!!! From a regular camera!! What an evening, what a tour! ❤ Viva MADONNA 4ever! ❤

This Disco segment is right up in Madonna’s alley when she was a denizen of the vibrant disco/dance club scene in NYC in the ‘80s. She frequented clubs like Studio 54, Danceteria, the MuddClub, Fun House, others…staying attuned with the latest dance trends/moves/music, and meeting DJs like John ‘Jellybean’ Benitez who’d play a role early in her career. Indeed, many of her early hits were staples in disco clubs and dance parties. It was John Travolta’s 1977 smash film Saturday Night Fever that really fueled the popularity of the disco dance clubs. And Madonna with this Music Inferno number gave an awesome homage to Travolta’s iconic film dance moves to the Trammps’ Disco Inferno. The production quality and artistic elements like staging, audio/visual/lighting tech, choreo, fashion, messaging and set list of Madonna’s concert tours have always been the gold standard of the modern pop music concert tour…and not many of today’s pop music acts have come close if not topped what Madonna have achieved. My wife and I went to see Usher’s Past/Present/Future concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA last November 11, 2024, and I tell you, even though I like Usher and his old school hiphop/rap music, the production quality was inferior to Madonna’s standards. The same goes when we watched Mariah Carey or Elton John in one of their earlier residency concerts in Las Vegas. I think this act is a confession on her musical influences this is a nod of course the disco music playing at the gay bars and clubs in Detroit that Christopher Flynn took her to as a teen and to the last days of classic disco in the clubs in the NYC when she arrived. the red dress visuals are an homage the famous Tina Turner Tommy's acid queen photoshoot by Gerhard Augustin. and she does most of the Saturday Night Fever dance. it was a total party on the floor
