I don't think Madonna thinks about what her fans want. I think she thinks more about what story she wants to tell and what songs fit that story. Since "Drowned World", her concerts were not dependent upon her hit songs, and as fans, for the most part, we've come to accept that, at least I have. If she really cared what the fans -- not me, mind you -- wanted, she would sing more of her hits. I'm thrilled with the setlist, but it does leave out quite a few hits and BIGGER-hit songs. "You'll See", "I'll Remember", "Take a Bow", "Cherish", among many others were all big hits, yet were AGAIN ignored. Again, I'm fine with that, because the setlist that we do get is nonetheless awesome

Actually Britney Spears only released her first single in mid of 99 and so did Christina Aguilera. NSync had their first US TOP 10 song in '99 and Backstreet boys had big hits in '96 and '99 but not in '98. In 1998 was all about Titanic Celine Dion song, Madonna (this album sold over 18 million copies!), Janet Jackson ("Together Again" was the biggest hit of her carreer) and a couple more things (but not much more global). Madonna never went anywhere since she started having TOP 10 Hits in 1984 and during 1998 she had another 2 TOP 10 Hits with "Frozen" (#02) and "Ray of Light" (#05). But in 1997 she had a TOP 10 with "Don't Cry For Me Argentina", in 1996 with "You'll See", in 1995 with "Take a Bow" (#01 for 7 weeks), 1994 with "I''ll Remember" (#02) and "Secret"(#03).... and in almost all years before since she started her carreer. Before it was more regular some 40 yo woman to have TOP 10 Hits (Tina Turner, Cher and other artists did it as well before Madonna).

Fun fact, this video is recorded in sweden at the shcool of KTH, in the basement of the school roughly 25 meters down there is an abandoned nuclear reactor wich was swedens first nuclear reactor. The reactor was active from July 13, 1954 to June 6, 1970. The reactor is now gone but the hallways and big rooms are still left and gives of a creepy vibe wich made this video spectacular.

Gorkem A don't forget "bedtime stories". it also focused more on madonna's talent than her publicity stunts. madonna doesn't have the best voice but on the "bedtime stories" album, madonna gave you some solid vocals especially on her ballads. the lyrical words and the R&B vibe on that album made it a masterpiece and probably madonna's best album.
