For those of you wondering about the topic of this segment, Madonna is talking about the film she directed back in 2010, it's called "W.E.". It's the love story about the American woman (divorcee) Wallis Simpson and England's King Edward VIII (1936). King Edward fell in love with Wallis Simpson, and back then it was not only not allowed, it was a scandal for a member of the British royal family to even date an American, let alone a divorced American woman. He could not marry her whilst being king and so he abdicated (renounced his throne) in order to be with her. They married the year after, when Wallis Simpson's (2nd) divorce was finalised. Perhaps he also had his other reasons for abdicating, though mostly most of the focus was on him abdicating for the sake of love and it's known as one of the biggest love stories of the 20th century.
