i remember reading an interview with oprah - she said she never allowed a second take BUT THIS IS MADONNA. i guess madonna was nervous and screwed up a part and was like cut can we do this from the top. do you remember this part?

@@aidanmorris2231 she was so nice about it! When the show ended, they wouldn't let us leave. Madonna came back out and said that her manager said they needed to do Ray of Light one more time. "Do you guys mind?" We were like " Of course not!"

This is the best live performance of "Ray of Light." Ever. Madonna seemed carefree and confident and her vocals and stage presence reflected that. The VMA performance that followed this was so awkward and stiff. Fantastic stripped down performances like this make me wonder what the Drowned World Tour (which focused on the ROL and Music albums) would have been like in an intimate theater setting (a la Madame X).

There is a performance of this song during the MTV Video Music Awards in 1998 along with Shanti Ashtangi you should react to it even though it’s a bit rough well Ray of Light sounded a bit rough that night

What a performance! We can also see the (at the time) Madonna’s BFF Ingrid Casares making sure she was at Oprah’s side. Great era!!! I still think Ray of Light is one of the best records of the 90’s.
