Bedtime Stories has so many great songs and such great videos, i love the era. The tour would have been amazing. When they played Survival here, i just realized what a great single that could have been, too. Bedtime Stories imo is an album where almost every single song could have been a single. Human Nature, song and video, remain timeless, same for the message.

Along with La Isla Bonita, and maybe Holiday, I’d say Human Nature is one of the songs she performs most in future concerts.

@@EmpressReactsyeah. She always performs those 3. Occasionally holiday is left out but I’d say it’s la isla 100% human nature 90% and holiday 90% of the time. When I go to her shows I go to the bathroom at la isla because she always always does it.

I'm so glad she went with Secret first for the video. About that part that she don't like being interrupted while having dinner, it reminds me of the MJ story that a kid went up to Madonna for an autograph while they were eating and Madonna was rude.

Since her mantra for years is "Im going until the wheels fall off', well they almost fell off and to answer your question....no, she is not doing splits anymore. In her last show it wasn't something I missed, I would say her movements were fitting her age, but most importantly, her energy is still the same.

💯💯 about artists sometimes forgetting that they are a product. Human Nature’s video is a Madonna classic ‼️

Unfortunately for M, she was perhaps more of a product than anyone. As a performance artist, everything she does whether it’s the art or her life, is going to be consumed. She was too compelling for her own good sometimes.

Madonna loves Human Nature, i think this is a spoiler but there you go, she will perform it on several later tours and still does now. It is the Bedtime Stories song, she performs the most to this day. The message still resonates and the hard beat...you can tell it is a favorite of hers and many fans.

Thank you Empress for reacting to this, i have never seen this before. Human Nature video is proof you don't need a super high budget when you got a good concept, a great artist with charisma and dope choreography to have an amazing video. This video is almost as good and entertaining as Bedtime Story even though i am sure they spend alot less money on it. All Bedtime Stories videos are very very good imo.

@@EmpressReacts It was the fourth single and the album had been out for like 8 or 9 months when it dropped but yeah it only really was a hit in the UK where it hit #8. Only around #50 in the US which is a crime. It's funny, the second she was somewhat sexual and full of attitude, she didnt get the radio support once again. Even though she scored several huge hits after Erotica. I'll Remember hit #2, Secret hit #3 and obviously Take A Bow hit #1 for 7 consecutive weeks. For me Human Nature was a standout on the album from the get go. Very Hip Hop, the lyrics are so her and feminist. Her whispering ''Would it sound better if i was a man'' she was about 20 years ahead of her time again with that message.

I think it’s true the line gets easily blurred between the artist’s work and their lives. But I also think it’s important to distinguish between the image of a person and the person themselves. The artist isn’t truly the product because once an image is taken of them as part of their work, the image becomes their work. It’s no longer them, so the image of them is the product, not the flesh and blood human being. If an image is taken of them in a private moment by paparazzi, it’s a product of the greater media and a bored public, ravenous for distraction, so I do think an artist has a right to draw boundaries to protect those private parts of their lives from needless shallow prying and spurious gossip. People act like once someone becomes famous they’re entirely sold to the public, that that’s the payment for having money and attention, but a celebrity can still turn up to promote their hard work, be photographed at public events, do interviews with the media, and require some privacy and freedom to be a human being who explores life and makes mistakes. A celebrity who actually DOES make work, I mean, not the shallow celebrities who really are only in it for the attention. Even someone who loves attention as much as Madonna has always primarily been there to be productive and make lasting work. It really comes down to the envious immaturity of the public that turns artists’ private lives into a giant vicarious game for the public to live through. An exercise in power for the less powerful masses, to make or break public figures. It;s toxic for both the artist and the public, and it doesn’t help people understand or appreciate the art.

i think you are spot on, to distinguish between the image of a person and the person themselves(between the facade&the illusion& persona, what they want you to see or what they dont want to show you behind closed doors ??) way too many people blow smoke up these celebrities asses including Madonna and idolise them as if they were royalty, when they are anything but..All the music and entertainment industries promote are( especially today) are how to be greedy, self centred and narcissistic just like Madonna(as opposed to being true role models) not just having some genuine talent and work ethic, but doing it with grace, integrity and honesty(A far far cry) from the message Madonna and our evil, corrupt music industries really want to send out to the masses( and what iam saying is just the tip of the ice-berg)
@petersavieri
@petersavieri 11 күн бұрын
@@Godschosen144 Absolutely the money driven managers and star-makers of the entertainment industry can be exploitative of both talent and the general public, and they destroy as many lives as they make with the way they build people up as products instead of self-determining human beings. Not to mention the damage that envying the image of those privileged lives does to the self esteem of people who aren’t benefiting directly from the fame machine. And I can’t argue that very famous people get the royal treatment, and the notion that anyone is “better” than anyone else is abhorrent. But they also get a very specific type of large scale abuse that isn’t as often recognised. We can see its effects when it destroys some of the celebrities who initially benefitted, but the effect is universal to all major celebrities. Privacy is something very difficult to quantify until it’s lost. Think back on all the personal moments you had today, this week, this month. The moments of vulnerability, or where you were just wearing comfy clothes and not bothering about your appearance, or if you argued with someone or picked your nose… now imagine that any, or every, single one of those moments found its way into magazines and websites all over the world to be ogled and publicly judged by millions of strangers. For most of us, if that happened for even one week we would remember it traumatically for the rest of our lives, so for someone who deals with that possibility every single day it would obviously take a heavy toll. I’m not pretending famous people are the most hard-done-by people in the world. Not by a LONG shot. But I maintain that the true artists among them, of which I firmly believe Madonna is one, are primarily there to make culture for their audience, and to challenge culture in general to include more diversity, more sexual freedom and less shame. When you speak of role models, I can’t help inferring that you mean people who don’t do messy or flawed things, and who align with polite notions of what it is to be “good”. I actually find those kind of role models disingenuous. Madonna’s work, and her position as a role model, not only saved me when mean spirited conservatism was making myself and all queer people hate ourselves, but it also encouraged me to be physically fit, ambitious about pursuing my dreams, and philanthropically invested in the wellbeing of others. Madonna has always been a paragon of authenticity and integrity to me. I’m not fooled by superficial masks of glamour, she has always remained steadfast in her core qualities of the love of art and culture making, the value of critical intelligence, the importance of physical health, the stupidity of all shame-based religion and chauvinist regimes, and that authenticity means acting with courage, making mistakes and being honest about learning from them.

@@petersavieri I have absolutely zero sympathy for any celebrities, as i said they are part of an evil industry, the same industry that produces low vibrational music that promotes sex, greed, violence and anything else that erodes the very soul and good from society as a whole and Madonna is a big-part and player in that industry... How do you truly think musicians and entertainers get to the level they are at?? by sheer talent and hard work ethic?? think again my friend, they get into these positions because of certain oaths and pledges they have to take and make(and cannot break) and the very contracts they sign are satanic in nature.. these people have sold their souls to the devil, and were willing to step on anyone who got in their way at whatever cost it took.. Madonna and most of these entertainers are the most evil, vile and disgusting people you will ever meet, and would not piss on both you and me or anyone for that matter who was on fire... You seem like a very articulated guy, my suggestion to yourself or anyone would be to take the rose tinted glasses off and do some thorough research on how demonic the music& and entertainment industries really are and you may be shocked to discover the very people you looked up to for all these years were far from the whom they projected themselves to be.. The rabbit hole goes very deep, all the best on your journey to some enlightenment i hope 🙏🙏
