I don't think Guy ever really got used to the massive attention his wife got. He seemed out of place, petrified and overwhelmed by all the posing, schmoozing and PR required when you're a star of Madonna's magnitude. Notice how many times he got shoved off to the side so the press could get photos of her alone and how many people she greeted while he awkwardly stood by like a house plant. He was always in Madonna's shadow.

Madonna's shadow? You seem to suggest he envied the attention his wife got and that was not the case. He simply hated to be constantly on the spot because of her. He is an interesting filmmaker and along with Sean Penn one of the few interesting men she had a relationship with. It is funny how hard-core fans of her hate him just because she didn't want to be married to him anymore. It is so clear she is insufferable as a wife.

There was a time when Sharon absolutely hated Madonna. Well times change. Taking her age into account I think Madonna needs to start dressing a little more elegantly, kind of like Sharon. She's no spring chicken anymore. I will give Madonna credit for the staying power she has had. I literally grew up with her from 1982 onwards. So many pop starts came and vanished or prematurely died, but she's still going strong. Controversy aside, she's a smart and astute woman as is Sharon.
