In my teens, I fell in love with Madonna's voice, before I even knew what she looked like. Her voice is innocent-sexy, energetic, campy, deep, storytelling, versatile, it cobmbines emotive, drama, sadness, playfulness, defiance and perseverance. It delivers great ballads and has the ability to blend into and carry celebratory dance beats. Her voice is her greatest asset. It wasn't just her style, stage performance abilities that made her records work, it was her voice all along. From Everybody and Holliday, to Papa don't preach and Live to tell, to Nothing Really Matters and Frozen, those who bought her records bought them because of her voice. In fact some of Madonna's great tracks weren't even released as singles and some had a video long after the records were already popular. La Isla Bonita was her fifth single and video from the album True Blue, and wasn't performed live untill a year later, yet it infiltrated into the fan's souls and later into the radio playlists and the charts. So, her voice was her greatest asset to begin with. Her attitude and performance abilities and her gorgeous communicative eyes were the ornamentation to her already great voice. In fact before she became famous, people around her noticed her voice too. They were the ones who pointed that out to her. She trained to be a dancer, but it was her voice that kept coming to the forefront. In the show business aka Hollywood aka Ziowood, as it is the case in all other type of businesses, when someone is perceived as a threat to the establishment, the established artists or businesses, try to blackbal the new ones by saying oh "she is good in that but not in this or she doesn't belong here, she belongs over there". I don't mean to name names or bad mouth those who said it, as I was a fan of them too, but Madonna outlasted them all. With or without her Grammies and Golden Globes, Madonna was and is great both in her singing, on stage and in screen performances. Her voice that carried her records, her performance abilities on stage and on screen both captivated us fans. And she has a multidimensional career that expands across several decades, genres, films videos, tours, albums, singles, digital downloads and streaming to prove it. People who criticize her are shortsighted and have hearing problems or have let the Madonna haters to dictate their perception of her.
