May I add, in retrospection, she wrote or co-wrote most of her songs, her artistic creativity, success and longevity is unmatched among female pop-music performers many of whom who came after her were influenced by her or benefitted by her taking all that heat for challenging “conventional prejudices” that liberated and empowered women that laid the blue print for them to be creative and strong in their career. Madonna also had a social conscience, she was intrepid in her advocacy and generous in support for many rights, environmental and humanitarian causes; she adopted 4 orphan kids from impoverished Malawi and raised them lovingly with her own biological daughter and son...she achieved her iconic status the old-fashioned way: she earned it.

Madonna is beloved in Argentina as the sold out adoring fans at this Buenos Aires concert showed. This serenade portion where she sang You Must Love Me and Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from Evita with scenes from the movie in the backdrop was so touching and heartfelt. At the end, the circular high tech screen curtain with the Argentine flag projected around it-came down slowly over the stage where Madonna and her musicians performed, in a fitting embrace of this icon and what she meant to these Argentine fans. Bravo!!
