I purchased the watch as part of the second round sale. Here is my short review of the Madras Watch Works Marina edition: The watch has a nice heft and presence to it. Feels good to wear and looks good as well. The construction is good and the finish upto mark considering the price point. Happy with the use of sapphire crystal though it could use a bit of anti reflection. Good choice of movement in choosing Seiko NH over Miyota. The winding and the movement seem smooth. I personally liked the watch hands. All 3 hands look classy Nice touch of printing logo on crown. The bezel action is good and sounds good too, but there is a bit of back play. The watch looks good in real than in photos - I even feel it's not a photogenic watch :D I don't understand why the watch is only rated 100m when they have provided with screw down crown! The back design and font choice etc. seems a bit of an after thought. Since this is a work horse movement, need not have provided exhibition case back. I would have personally liked the model name Marina printed on the watch face instead of back and dropped the word edition. The lume on the hands is average but the lume on the markers are poor, to say the least. The bracelet is adequate but was a bit large for my wrists (6.5) even after adjustment so I had to replace with a strap. It was also a fingerprint magnet. It would be great if they provided a strap variant as well. Overall a good first attempt by this fledgling microbrand out of Tamil Nadu. Yes the team played it safe as this design is a homage but I would love if they bring in original designs in future. Cheers!
