Our guild did indeed have a hunter with that axe, wing clip spamming. To prove a point, when he went OOM I innervated him instead of the priest. Aaaand now I'm playing a hunter on classic. EDIT: Aaaand I got called out later in the video. Sorry for running out of arrows, DAVID.

For the saving gold upon wipe part.. You can actually use any item that deals damage to you, just like the Offhand that gives you 60% movement speed, because if you die by an item, you dont take durability damage and since you can swap weapons even in combat, this works great too.

My best vanilla experience was a dwarf paladin named mcgrundy. We were on the second boss of bwl with a full wipe besides him. He was a healer and managed to take down the boss using that elune potion. We lost our shit so much or voice software crashed. Called him mcgrundy the dragon slayer and he was famous on alliance server stormrage. Top 10 memories for sure! Favorite BC exp experience was as a lock summoning people off high ledges in karazhan.. so much fun back then. Hopefully everyone has a great time this time around! Good luck to everyone for classic! These are some great tips. One other good tip for attacking mobs, your first attack should be your longest and highest damaging spell before the mob is running at you that way you get in the most amount of damage before they start attacking you. This will be obvious to many people. But I remember teaching this to so many people when I started playing.

So funny you mentioned that Paladin thing :))) It was one of the main reasons I picked Engineering on my Dwarf, I'd make stacks of Dynamite and keep them in my backpack for situations where I'd need to be careful with my pulls. Key thing was to not make the more advanced types, as they would increase the range and pull multiple enemies. The basic Linen dynamites were the best, and I'd go back regularly to low level zones to farm troggs and mine copper nodes that gave the Rough stone needed for the blasting powder. I kind of miss it now, ever since we got the shield throw and Reckoning they've been pretty much useless. Still.. got to make a bunch of nice pets and mounts with it.

Looking forward to Classic. Haven't played WoW since the end of Catacalysm (partially due to money, partially due to the complete change to Shaman Totems in Pandaria), and I'm excited to get that sense of community that seemed strong when I started back in Lich King, but died out in Cataclysm's LFG/LFR. Not going to miss Ventrilo though.

2:45 that's a huge tip for prot paladins; you can also use Linken's Boomerang trinket from the Legend of Zelda questline in Un'Goro as a ranged attack, but Magic Candle's seem like a much better option

another similar one is you can get 2 people and summon yourself, then hearth/be ported by a mage and go get stuff. Have 2 minutes to take the summon.

Another extremely useful tip for summoning in a dungeon - If you log out while in a dungeon (and aren't the party leader) and the leader kicks you from the group while offline, you will be outside the dungeon entrance when you log back in. This means if you need to summon someone back to the dungeon you can have the lock and two others log out, be removed from the group, log back in, and summon the 5th member. Then all four can run back inside.

@@amacuro No, it's so that you can summon a party member without having to leave the instance. So you summon them before they leave the instance, then they hearth and they have 2 minutes to repair, get ammo, get quest etc. They can then accept the summon within those two minutes and the rest of the party doesn't have to leave the instance in order to resummon them.

@@amacuroThe point is, lets say you need to repair your gear, then you would heartstone, go to a blacksmith and repair. To get back, the rest of the party would then have go all the way outside of the instance to summon you back. With this trick, you can get a summon while inside the instance, take your heartstone out, repair and then accept that summon, which will get you right back to your group inside the instance. Nifty little trick that I actually recommend he covered on his stream :-)

i actually just also remembered something important about mounts and mount collecting which will affect bag storage as well. this is that there was no mount tab in vanilla so this means that you will be storing your mounts in your bags or bank at all times. you'll always need one in your bag to use but having more will just be a waste of bag space.

We once took a Warlock and a few others and done some cliff jumping to get into Hyjal, back when it wasn't a zone you could normally get into. We explored it and found the world tree which had an insanely deep water area (still does in BFA actually, dive to the bottom of it). Well, we swam to the deepest part of it, then a guildy wanted to join our group to see Hyjal too, so we summoned him at the bottom of the water, it was so funny, poor guy wasn't prepared and drowned before he could reach the surface. :) I still have some pics I took at the time of our exploration of what Hyjal looked like in Vanilla.

Updated Tip for MC: Behind the wall that Lothos is standing in front of lies an invisible portal to MC. Jump into the Lava from just a few steps down the spiral ramp - a little to the right of Madseason's spot. It's just on the other side of the short passageway with the arch. Search around in the lava that is behind Lothos' back wall, and you will find the invisible teleport into MC. You'll notice that people who actually use Lothos appear to be punted out the backside of that small room, above the lava for a second. That's likely cause they're using said invisible portal. I'm guessing the teleport box/cylinder extends down from the back wall down to the lava, and you can swim from the lava into the teleport zone.
