I like number 5 the best, the leading lines in the foreground leads you up to the small waterfall and the waterfall leads you up to the mountain in the background. And then you have the interesting rocks on both sides to balance the image and to create more atmosphere.

Brilliant again. Brought back memories. It's been 7 years since I visited Skye. It was July 2010, there was next to no traffic, no tourists and no midges. Times have changed. We stayed at Lower Milovaig, not far from Neist Point. On the road from Dunvegan to Neist Point, you will have passed the Three Chimneys restaurant - had the best meal of my life there. Still can't believe the amount of folk there in your video around Neist Point and the Fairy Pools. Mental! As for my favourite photo, I would have to say either 5 or 6. Love the mood in both of them.

6. The wide angle gives a much better idea of the grand scale of the vista. I also like the way the white water is spread out more as it falls over the rocks into the pools. so moody and dramatic. I just love it.

#2 is iconic, yes. #4 eh. The little bit of green in #'s 5-6 does it for me. I have always wanted to visit Scotland(because I have worked with some crazy Scots). I am from Alaska and seeing the midges strikes terror in my heart. I will be prepared. I like these vids because of the total focus on the photography. No airport, no hotel, no food, just the story about the pictures.

For me Mads, pic 4 is my favourite, as it depicts the Fairy Pools in a more dramatic way than is usually seen. By going to the Isle of Skye in September, it was inevitable that you would encounter midges and tourists, including masses of photographers all vying for the best location shot. November if you are lucky with the weather is a good time to go, as the flies have disappeared and only the fewer braver photographers appear. Another great video and it illustrates nicely the challenges of photography in this wonderful location.

One of the highlights of my week is when I get to watch your videos. The images are always on the highest level. Truly inspirational Mads. If I have to pick a favorite it would probably be 4 with 2 coming in close behind. With #4 I love the feeling it gives. Skye is an incredible place. I got my favourite shot at Neist point it is an amazing location, the number of photographers who appear at sunset is crazy but five minutes after the sunset I was the only one left. I was disappointed by the Fairy pools but I was there after a three week drought so the water was just a trickle. My favourite shots are number 3 because I just love the jutting shape of the point leading you to the lighthouse and number 5. The line of the water leading to the falls behind with the brooding mountain in the background is so beautiful

Fabulous work Mads, your journals should be a must watch for anyone intending to visit the locations you have covered. There is so much quality information you include and the images and suggestions are fantastic. The 3 images of the Fairy Pools are epic and I can’t choose between these, you make it so difficult mate! Skye is busy at the iconic locations but if you venture “off piste” you rarely see another photographer. I have been visiting for the last 4 years and have discovered some amazing spots but it is nice to get the famous sights “in the can”. I hope you are keeping well Mads and hope you and your family have a very merry Christmas.🎄🎄🎄 Take care.🍀👌

#4 for me. I love the composition, the use of the figure and the texture/movement you have captured in the water. That scene at the lighthouse was crazy, it was like they were all waiting for a movie star to appear. I’m a sucker for placing peeps in photos (sadly I don’t have a Sophie and have to do it myself with a remote), the whole scale thing and that light with the ominous mountain in the background works so well. A great video, Mads with some very insightful comments about composition. I like 2 and 3 for the change from warm to cooler post sunset colours (a stunning landscape); number 4 is a superb texture shot of the water and the human presence adds to the appeal of the composition. The strongest shot, compositionally , I think, is 5 with the bold horizontal line of the waterfall, the pyramidal mountain, and that great winding line of rushing water that takes the eye back up to the waterfall and not out of the picture....and the brooding atmosphere, like some scene out of Lord of the Rings. Sorry if I got carried away there! Beautiful work, Mads.

Number 5 for me. The portrait format works really well gives more depth to the image, with good lead in lines,to take you right into the image. A lot of people would never even have thought of taken any image on a day like this, but its weather like this that can make the picture. This is skye at its best. Beautiful image in my book.

Well, you've done it again Mads. Another great vlog, filled with information and topped up with so much enthusiasm :) You're sure making it difficult for us to decide on a favourite with those images. I favourite is 4, because i like the feel of having Sophie in the frame to give the image that little extra. But they're all superb.

Thanks a lot and thank you for your thoughts Paul! It's acutally in this case just a random tourist walking into the frame ;)

Great colours on the lighthouse shots. Hard to pick a winner, but for me number 4 hits the mark. It has great texture in the water and the person on the side of the frame works well giving scale. Looking forward to part 2 Mads.

Absolutely love your content. So glad you managed to include drone footage. When I went back in October there was no chance of me getting the Mavic up the wind was insane!. No 6 was the image that spoke to me, beautiful composition and perfect mood. I didn't get a chance to get down to the Fairy Pools last time but will hopefully in Feb when i go back . Thank you for another epic guide. Look forward to more.

It's the worst when you don't get the b-roll you want ;) Didn't get anything from Storr either, but they even put up a sign with no drone flying :( Thanks a lot and thank you for the thoughts Darren :)

Same! I couldn't even get up to Storr because of the weather. Didn't realise they had banned drone flying too up there. Will have to bear that in mind for next visit! Thanks!

No 5 for me. A lovely "S" curve with perfect shutter speed, leading into a very atmospheric background. I've been a couple of times in similar conditions but alas couldn't catch anywhere near the atmosphere the way you have Mads. Outstanding images. The point you made about breaking the horizon on the Neist Point image shows me exactly where I went wrong with one I took. I didn't break the horizon and the difference is plain to see, although I did manage to capture a double rainbow in mine. But that just shows how much better mine could have been. You inspire this amateur to keep trying though, thanks.
