I like number 5 the best, the leading lines in the foreground leads you up to the small waterfall and the waterfall leads you up to the mountain in the background. And then you have the interesting rocks on both sides to balance the image and to create more atmosphere.

Brilliant again. Brought back memories. It's been 7 years since I visited Skye. It was July 2010, there was next to no traffic, no tourists and no midges. Times have changed. We stayed at Lower Milovaig, not far from Neist Point. On the road from Dunvegan to Neist Point, you will have passed the Three Chimneys restaurant - had the best meal of my life there. Still can't believe the amount of folk there in your video around Neist Point and the Fairy Pools. Mental! As for my favourite photo, I would have to say either 5 or 6. Love the mood in both of them.

#2 is iconic, yes. #4 eh. The little bit of green in #'s 5-6 does it for me. I have always wanted to visit Scotland(because I have worked with some crazy Scots). I am from Alaska and seeing the midges strikes terror in my heart. I will be prepared. I like these vids because of the total focus on the photography. No airport, no hotel, no food, just the story about the pictures.

For me Mads, pic 4 is my favourite, as it depicts the Fairy Pools in a more dramatic way than is usually seen. By going to the Isle of Skye in September, it was inevitable that you would encounter midges and tourists, including masses of photographers all vying for the best location shot. November if you are lucky with the weather is a good time to go, as the flies have disappeared and only the fewer braver photographers appear. Another great video and it illustrates nicely the challenges of photography in this wonderful location.

I liked all the photos, but 3 (for the color of the blue sky), 4 (Sophie being on the left fills in the empty space), and 5 (the S-curve of the rocks) the most. Once again an awesome job.
Number 4 is my favourite. I love that you filled the frame in the way you did leading to the point of interest. The water streaks are perfect and it is just so beautifully balanced. It was hard to pick one as they are all really fabulous pics. Skye is an incredible place. I got my favourite shot at Neist point it is an amazing location, the number of photographers who appear at sunset is crazy but five minutes after the sunset I was the only one left. I was disappointed by the Fairy pools but I was there after a three week drought so the water was just a trickle. My favourite shots are number 3 because I just love the jutting shape of the point leading you to the lighthouse and number 5. The line of the water leading to the falls behind with the brooding mountain in the background is so beautiful

There is so much quality information you include and the images and suggestions are fantastic. The 3 images of the Fairy Pools are epic and I can’t choose between these, you make it so difficult mate! Skye is busy at the iconic locations but if you venture “off piste” you rarely see another photographer. #4 for me. I love the composition, the use of the figure and the texture/movement you have captured in the water. Great that a location is loved by so many people, but for me it takes away from the relaxation of landscape photography - one of the reason I love it so much.

The isle is some kind of a miracle - it's so marvellous in all of your shots. A great video, Mads with some very insightful comments about composition. I like 2 and 3 for the change from warm to cooler post sunset colours (a stunning landscape); number 4 is a superb texture shot of the water and the human presence adds to the appeal of the composition. The strongest shot, compositionally , I think, is 5 with the bold horizontal line of the waterfall, the pyramidal mountain, and that great winding line of rushing water that takes the eye back up to the waterfall and not out of the picture....and the brooding atmosphere, like some scene out of Lord of the Rings. Sorry if I got carried away there! Beautiful work, Mads.

No 5 for me. A lovely "S" curve with perfect shutter speed, leading into a very atmospheric background. I've been a couple of times in similar conditions but alas couldn't catch anywhere near the atmosphere the way you have Mads. Outstanding images. The point you made about breaking the horizon on the Neist Point image shows me exactly where I went wrong with one I took. I didn't break the horizon and the difference is plain to see, although I did manage to capture a double rainbow in mine. But that just shows how much better mine could have been. You inspire this amateur to keep trying though, thanks.
