These sort of videos proves why you should never just read the headlines news. You never get the real facts. This channel is nothing else but a big joke to laugh at. The essequivo was a land under the control of the spanish crown many years before the dutches and the britts ever show up to the shores of the americas,that is a fact. The land in question was under the capitancy of venezuela during our fight for independance. While we were fighting for our freedom britain did what they always did. Took the land that didn't belong to them and draw a map ,then went to the international court and collude with the USA,Russia,italy and other countries to legitimate this land grab. Venezuela has all the documents that proves our legitimate claim to the lands west of the essequivo river which was the common border between the crown of spain and the newcomers (aka dutches and brittish) . Now the media without any concern for facts just publish all this garbage just because guyana's population is directly descendants of india and because maduro is a socialist. But this issue has noghitng to do with maduro being a communist or leftist or what ever. This is about the true. The essequivo kands west of the river belongs to venezuela. Period.

I think Venezuela has a lot of oil even without the territory. Even if they can take the territory by force, they still need to invest a lot into the field before making profit. @@Uplink64 Past tense, belonged to them. They lost it to the then big boy in the region; The British Empire who ceded it to Guyana after their independence. When Venezuela realized that Guyana was going to break away from Britain they saw that opportunity to Diplomatically reclaim it. But those attempts have been unsuccessful. Britain has the treaty signed by the disgraced Venezuelans to prove they won Essequibo and added it to Guyana. Venezuela's just been an annoyance really. Venezuela squandered it's vast mineral resources on feeding dictators. It has became great and now has decayed all without Essequibo. Now the cheque book is empty for Maduro. Hyper inflation runs rampant in Venezuela. Maduro and his supporters will soon have to eat themselves. So he hopes he can finance his lifestyle by taking away more than half Guyana's territory because it is rich and he wants it. Don't let it happen folks.

@jasonryan814711 ай бұрын
@@travelertuber9487 These conditions were all agreed upon by the then Venezuelan Government. Venezuela chose two US representatives and Britain sent two of theirs. The two parties would agree on a fifth man. At the time Venezuela accepted the ruling. It took them over 50 years to bring it back up. You're also leaving out something quite important. The Schomburgk Line. The Schomburgk Line was a line of demarcation made by a German surveyor Robert Schomburgk to show the territory of Dutch Guiana and The Spanish Empire. This demarcation was made between 1835 and 1839. Britain had by then inherited Dutch Guiana and Venezuela it's independence from the Spanish Empire. At that time there was no dispute that Essequibo belonged to the Dutch. But Venezuela knowing that region was rich and thinking they could get The USA to invoke the Monroe Doctrine to kick out Britain and get it for themselves claimed it as theirs in 1844. Britain even tried appeasing Venezuela by giving them the mouth of the Orinoco and surrounding territories because they didn't understand they had inherited a resource rich region from the Dutch. When they learned why the Venezuelans wanted it, all bets were off. The so called fraud and ruse you speak of is that The US, Britain and Russia somehow made secret deals to short change Venezuela of land that they never administered. It was Dutch, British then Guyanese administrations that have that claim sir. The British were awarded the Schomburgk Line Borders.

The British occupied Guyana for 200 years before granting independence to them in 1966. However, the government installed has been let's say favorable to the US and UK stealing their resources. Guyana is far more a part of Venezuela than the United States or Britain. Like Taiwan is part of China this is just another oil grab by the Western powers at the expense of US and UK civilians and soldiers who in a war will die for the profits from the sale of its oil. It's clear who has been and continues stealing Guyana's resources.

@@Cr-uq5gf I recollect that the United States was once a "sovereign protectorate" of Britain, until this territory was wrested from their grasp by armed conflict. Moreover, Britain's ability to project military force abroad has steadily declined since 1982. After the US assumed control of much of their "Archipelago of Empire" (to use B. Cumins' term) after 1945, the fact that these islands remained under the control of Britain suggests they have little strategic value anyway.

Absolutely LOVING the dripping sarcasm of this video. Yep, this is a pseudo-existential "crisis" over a patrol boat. Maduro is such a heavy-handed drama-clown. He's not going to do a damn thing militarily against Guyana, although this mobilization might entice the US to position a strike group into the area in case he gets desperate enough to actually try something. As the presenter says, he's grasping at straws in an effort to rally Venezuelans ahead of an election that may or may not happen.
