As a South American, the current situation is devastating for our continent. Despite a prolonged period of peace in terms of wars, we have felt the pressure from larger countries exploiting our land and resources. The privatization of essential services like water, gas, and electricity has added to our challenges. Maduro's actions seem like a distraction, blaming external factors for Venezuela's struggles. The country's immigration and the resulting chaos have strained relations with its neighbors. We're weary not because Venezuelans are inherently destructive, but because they haven't stood up against the likes of Maduro. While change is difficult, consider the powerful protest Chile orchestrated in 2019, serving as inspiration globally before the pandemic disrupted momentum for change.

Why was an agreement made? Nicolau (let's translate the name), former bus driver who became president thanks to the late Chaves (remember "why don't you shut up Chaves?") achieved what he REALLY WANTED, which is to make international headlines to APPEAR to the Venezuelan people as THE GUY and being re-elected - THAT WAS HIS ONLY OBJECTIVE AND IT WAS ACHIEVED. The objective of the President of Guyana is to maintain its reserves and its gains from its natural resources and it has been achieved. Brazil's objective is to broker the agreement and prevent the start of a war and Brazilian involvement and avoid a possible escalation of the civil war in Brazil as there is a sharp political division in Brazil between Lula and Bolsonaristas and, with the agreement, Brazil remains leader in South America and Lula reinforces his re-election. The USA's objective was to demonstrate military strength, but also to call Brazil to its role in America by brokering peace and minimizing military efforts and maintaining its interests in Guyana's reserves. In other words, the objectives of the presidents involved were met in an agreement and the fight without slaps ended with everyone managing to strengthen themselves in their countries. This reminds me of fights between neighbors, the kind where the police and everything like that, but in the end everyone goes to their homes after an agreement, they have parties, they eat a lot at a barbecue and they drink until they fall asleep.... It's a good thing that we are Latin Americans and we never get together. we fool... ("I'm Latin American and I never fool myself, I never fool myself" as the song said)😅

I know the only way CARICOM will benefit from any oil in the region is by way of Venezuela. Guyana has 11 billion barrels of oil. Trinidad and Tobago have 0.24 billion barrels of oil and 10.53 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and all that oil and all that gas have done nothing for the struggling countries of CARICOM. There are no mutual development agreements for member countries. No one hand washes the other, no special pricing, only crab in a barrel relationship. The only oil producing country in this region that went out of their way to help the struggling countries of the Caribbean was Venezuela and that help came about because our fellow CARICOM country Trinidad and Tobago reneged on a Memorandum of Understanding to supply oil to Jamaica at special rate. In fact, Trinidad and Tobago is notorious for reneging on signed agreement for selfish reasons. The EU put EU countries first before any other. The White Western World Order puts white countries first before any black or brown countries. The Caribbean Community seems to put everyone else before any other Caribbean country. Plus, the oil that so happens to be in Guyana by accident belongs to the USA not Guyana. Colonial Partition always end in war. Blame the British

@@artworkshop586 Jamaica ended petrocaribe amd nationalized Venezuela shares in Petrojam, at the command of Trump without even blinking an eye. Jamaica stabbed Venezuela in the back without shame! In 2008 oil prices jumped to a staggering US$147 Per Barrel. The Petrocaribe agreement allowed Jamaica to pay 50% down payment for oil shipments and the other 50% paid back over 25 years at 1% interest rate. This deferred 50% was invested directly into the Petrocaribe Development Fund thus converting sovereign debt into a receivable asset used for Infrastructure development. The fund is the largest domestic investor in renewable energy. Jamaica accumulated $3 billion of Petrocaribe debt at 1% interest rate payable over 25 years. The cash-strapped Venezuela agreed to cancel Jamaica’s $3 billion of Petrocaribe debt in exchange for a lump sum payment of $1.5 billion. The 50 percent haircut wiped Jamaica’s debt slate clean and reduced our debt to GDP. Since 2005, the amount of Venezuelan oil that has flowed to Caribbean states under Petro Caribe has fluctuated between roughly 86,000 and 121,000 barrels of oil per day and Jamaica accounted for 23,000 barrels per day at 50% discount.

Venezuela does not need the oil in Guyana. They want the land, They have more oil they need to survive. As you said, It is the British mismanagement that created this problem. It is the same mismanagement that they have done to India which was divided into three countries. The same thing the British did when they created Malesia, they gave Bornio owned by a Filipino sultan to Malesia. The British have been doing this in many of the countries they colonized, and it is now a dispute problem in these countries.
