2023 Honda Civic Sport Engine Air Filter Replacement

Called the dealership today to know the cost of engine air filter replacement... You would want to hear this for yourself. =D

Overservicing the air filter can be just as bad as underservicing. An new filter will pass more dust than a used filter. Accumulated dust closes the larger pores of the filtering media and increases the filtering efficiency. Also dust can get into the intake system during a filter change. I worked with a transit district that dusted one engine so they started replacing air filters every 4000 miles. They dusted 3 more engines before they asked for help.

Less the $20 with a better filter and in less the 5 minutes. I went to the dealer and it took 4 1/2 hrs to get my filter changed at the dealership. While I was waiting I was bombarded by salesman trying to sell me a car. After I left I received an e-mail asking about my experience so I put down that I was displeased with how long it took. After I filled out the questionnaire I received a call from the service tech who serviced my car and he was so nasty asking why I gave a negative review. I’m done with dealing with dealerships.

How do you feel about AEM DryFlow filters? or should I stick with Paper filters

imho oem engine w/o mods, ill stick with paper filters

@@BenjieMoreno Okay, thank you. I have a ‘23 Sport so I was curious if it’d do okay with the AEM. I’ll stick with paper. Just trying to find a good “easy” mod that’ll help with throttle response

Does it suprise you how dirty the filter was after only 8500 miles? Mine was SUPER dirty at 20,600 . I had never seen a filter so dirty in any of my other cars.

20,600 is way passed the recommended replacement. mine tbh wasnt that bad- i could run it for another 4-5k miles. i have seen way way worse (used to be an auto tech)

Mine was super dirty and oily looking at 11k miles. Never seen one look like that before.

Lol do the 30k package. Spark plug replacement is $1,400 lol. The entire package is just over 2k.
