•What is the Mae Hong Son Loop?
The MHS Loop is a circular driving route that begins in Chiang Mai, and travels through Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son, and Pai. The entire route is around 600km.
•How long was your trip?
We left Chiang Mai on a Monday, and returned to Chiang Mai the following Sunday.

my favorite time to travel north is end of Oct till end of Nov. This is rain is less or no rain, weather getting cold , not much people, forest is still green.

I did Chiang Mai to Pai end of February. I’m already looking forward to going back to do the Pai to Mae Hong Son section. My plan is 2 nights Chiang Mai, 2 nights Pai, 1 night in Ban Rak Thai, 1 in Mae Hong Son, 1 in Pai and then one or two in Chiang Mae

The best time for Maehongson loop is from July to January where july to september is rainy season and october to january is winter.😊

Thanks for watching. Unfortunately this happened a while ago now and I don’t remember much about the rental shops. I remember there were a few that ordered big bikes but not many.

Sounds to me like you took a Huge risk riding a motorcycle with any kind of transmission! Your friend was the only one with a brain. Your lucky to be alive! You have no business giving advice to anyone with little experience either except to tell them don't do it or you'll end up like me 😮. That is a wonderful trip I just did it 3 weeks ago.

@@TheEndlessVoyage you were too inexperienced for that ride even if the motorcycle had a clutch or was automatic.... If you dump a bike on a road you got riding problems because of lack of experience. If you were off road or in the desert deep sand then I could see it . But to dump all by yourself with nobody else causing it that is simply lack of experience. Your lucky your ok and if I were you I would buy myself a dirtbiike and ride every chance you get so when these awesome trips come up you can really enjoy yourself. Like when I was there a few weeks ago I had a CRF 300 Honda with aggressive knobbies and I took the dirt trails that went through the wooded mountains and met a man logging with his elephant one day . Anyway I was chewing your Azz because it needed it. I'm glad your ok. Ride on have fun 😊

I think it can definitely be dangerous to ride alone because you never know what can happen out there and you'll be far from major cities.

I have rode from Northern Alaska to key West Florida alone . As well as around Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia alone, you trust your own ability and know your limits 😅
