You remove the cap to insert the "ALLEN" key and notice the coolant leak right there. To do? How to repair it so that it doesn't leak anymore?
What happens is that the "O-RING" or "SEALING O-RING" of the threaded shaft or valve stem has lost its sealing power. It has become warped, cracked, or worn, allowing coolant to leak.
That gasket must be replaced. But the shaft doesn't come out. When you turn it outwards, it hits a stop.
It depends on the machining that the valve manufacturer has done, it may have an "INNER GROUP" or it may have a "FORMING". In both cases, the purpose is to act as a stop to prevent the threaded shaft or valve stem from coming out.
It would be dangerous if there was no stop because, with pressure inside the circuit, if someone unscrewed the shaft completely, it would fly out.
First of all, the refrigerant must be removed from the machine by the corresponding procedure.
In this video we make a recess of the metal with a grinder, since the example we have in the workshop, leak in a valve with a "shaped stop". Next we replace the "O-RING" or "O-RING" gasket with a new one.
I hope it is useful to you.
