ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

Funny thing about Bruce's bulk, as the series went on Jim Lee said he started to draw him thinner and thought that was a more appropriate look. I believe he found his initial drawings skewed too close to the the bulk he gave Wolverine and that they shouldn't be so physically similar.

I had paint slop on the regular head, I was sooooo depressed. My artist sister though was able to match the color repair the look. Mafex though gave me a pretty much “screw you” response to possibly replacing the defective head.

Man, this figure looks amazing. I really want to start collecting MAFEX. But at the price point, the QC issues really worry me. For example on the MAFEX Spider-Man, multiple reviewers had the wrist peg break off while they were reviewing it. At almost $100, I expect better quality control than a $20 Marvel Legends. Anyway, hope you bought this from a site that allows exchanges.

Imports are all stupidly marked up. Big reason why I look at half my SH Figuarts and wonder how the hell im paying 80-100$ for a small, not even that technically impressive piece of plastic. My Mafex Spider-Men are my favourite Spider-Men I own, but my fuck is the price egregious especially when their QC is so notably bad it’s become almost synonymous with their brand name.

minor paint slop is fine as it can't ever be perfect but the cape is pretty ridiculous, i have a theory that the cape coming off is somewhat meant to be easy for those who don't like the crazy wired cape and want a normal cape, either way it's just gluing it down which isn't really inconvenient

Really sucky yours had QC issues as well as trouble with the neck/cape attachment. I got super lucky with mine, but I can definitely tell where I have to be careful with it as I'm posing. Seems to be a hit or miss with the neck piece. Great review as always.

Sad to hear your figure was shitty. I have some similar issues with mine. The left shoulder is so fucking tight, I’m scared of rotation it sometimes. And my alternate gritting teeth is worse than yours. It has skin splotched on the mask and blue seeping through the mouth area. Good figure overall though it could’ve used a 5th wire down the middle of the cape.

I know Medicom is making strides in their quality control, but for what they charge, the defects yours came with are absolutely unacceptable. I’ve watched several popular reviewers all review this figure and each one had a different QC issue. Imports just don’t justify the price point for me. I’ve owned 100’s of ML’s and only 1 or 2 had legit QC issues. Thus why it’s the most popular line.

The dc direct one is looking real good right now for 25$ after realizing this thing was assembled with that glue they use in kindergarten which is edible and probably painted by the same students that ate the glue. Fingers crossed mine is not a mess on arrival. It will be the first and last mafex I ever get.
