Just a heads up for those of you who are looking to pick up this figure. I'm seeing a lot of people in the comments describe this as a $100 USD figure (basically what BBTS is charging), but it's currently $81.96 USD total shipped on Amazon Japan, and super fast shipping like 3 days. No need to pay $100 USD. (Also I'm well aware that $82 USD is still very expensive for a figure that was arguably already overpriced at the MSRP of $75 USD, just sharing what seems to be the best price right now, for those who are on the hunt.)

Here's the thing: if the best defense you can muster is "the arms only fall off SOMETIMES", that's still unnacceptable for an $80-100+ figure. It may be pretty cool, it may be a fan-favourite character that we WANT to love so people try to justify it, but the fact is, the QC is simply not to the standard that it should be for such an expensive piece. Full stop.

After watching this review when it came out I cancelled my pre-order then thought feck it..I'll get it anyway..it arrived today (Jan 29th ) and I'm so glad I went through with it..the arm problem is not that bad..mafex just didnt make the connecting pin long enough so I simply followed some guys mod on KZbin and it worked a treat..the slight difference in the colouring of the stripes doesn't bother me either..it is what it is..if anyones got any apprehensions about buying this then dont be afraid..yeah,.its more expensive than most other figures but it's worth it..I also have the legends and yamaguchi wolvies and as good as they are...this is by far my new favourite..!!

awesome review. got mine last week and he hasn’t been put up on the shelf yet. been sitting next to the recliner getting posed in different iconic wolvie poses every night. had been pretty shocked by all the hate that’s been out there. i understand your mentality of wanting to defend it a bit. it’s one of if not my favorite figure i’ve gotten in a long time and definitely my favorite wolverine. hope they make the brown costume soon as well. Are you referencing Robo's review? It's unfortunate, but I suspect his unmasked head is missing the inner piece that fits the Mafex ball joint. Essentially the heads are two separate pieces, one hole is large enough to fit around the neck, while there is a separate piece within the head that fits the ball joint.

I like this figure, I love the long claws and ears/mask. The funny thing is while I only tried 2 poses to get a few quick pictures and the arm didn't fall out until I tried to mess around around with it after hearing about the QC issue.

Best looking 1:12 scale Wolverine that I've seen but no excuse for heads that are loose (or don't fit at all - The Fwoosh review) on a $20 fig. so that's extra disappointing for the price of this one. The ML Love Triangle Wolverine looks pretty good IMO except for the unusual shading on the arms that doesn't match the face. torso joint, just soak it in hot water and pop it apart. it's most likely the same thing that happened to my comic paint ver. spiderman i just got. the bicep swivel was super tight and actually stuck, but i hot watered it and popped it off and put it back and fixed the issue.

I have t had any issues with my arms falling off and even if it does it’s no biggie since they can go back on. The only qc issues that upset me in figure releases would be breakage or floppy limbs (and nasty paint) but I have none of those issues with this mafex release 🤷‍♂️

definitely worth it and i don't even have one in my hands yet. (waiting to ship together with the cyclops) and i'm paying $80 with the combined shipping, not $100. i have the ML tiger stripe wolverine (which is one of the only few ML i bought)... I had to pick mine out from 10 other wolverine that was available just to find one with a non-crooked eye AND i still have to paint the claws, paint the hair on the arm, fixing the black paint around the mask, and give it a wash to make it less plastic looking. Also we pay $25 for ML is not what a lot of people pay for ML overseas, most of them actually cost around $30 vs $75 (real msrp for mafex; which some already said they paid $65), with more accessories, functional articulation that doesn't look like ass, higher quality finish overall, and each figure is actually a unique sculpt. At the end of the day you have to decide what you want in a collectible figure; some people wants a crap tons of cheap figure of all characters, some just want select few really nice figures.

Minus a worse face sculpt (not mask, though I hate the ML mask too, just the face) and better forward/back movement at the ankles there isn't anything this figure does that the Marvel Legends doesn't. And to offset it the proportions/height of this figure don't outdo the ML. Realistically the ML comes out on top because it's almost exactly the same but $60 cheaper. I do agree with you people are hating on the figure too much, but I also don't agree with your defense of it. On the surface, they freaking nailed Spider-Man and Venom (maybe Deadpool, but I don't care about him.) So naturally everybody expected Wolverine to be the best one ever. But they did a lot of goofy things, so expectations already weren't met. And that's a huge thing. His face mask is goofy and over-sized. It just is. Another guy told me it's because it's based on the Animated Series look. The box says Comic Version, so that's no defense. They just shaped the mask wrong and didn't fix it. There are instances where he's depicted having some pretty long claws in the comics but never to the point they're as long as his entire arm from shoulder to wrist. There's a difference between stylized/cool looking and then ludicrously proportioned. This one does not balance the aesthetic. The arguments against the length not being realistic versus claws in a guys forearms already not being realistic doesn't play into that either way. If the length of this claws were shaved down by a centimeter they would still be over-sized for his forearms but aesthetically more proportional to his body and there would have been less bitching. At $80+ you expect like-perfect, not kind of close. Hasbro already got kind of close at a much lower price point.

I still plan on getting it, mainly for the head sculpts and overall look. It has hands down, the best 6 inch scale unmasked logan head 🎯💯🔥 The only thing I'm not a fan of, is the ball hinge wrists on any of the Mafex figs. They take away from the otherwise perfect look of the figs.

Great review! You point out the good and the bad fairly. I Will say that those claws are too damn long though. Suspension of disbelief might be valid if this was the first ever Wolverine figure, but it's not. And yes, he needs to keep his wrists straight to extend his claws. Once they're in his hands the rigid parts are past the joint. It's been explained in the comics and shown in the movies. ;) That said, I'm still excited to get this. I'm thinking of maybe adapting some cast mezco claws to replace the ones supplied.

Mafex has been infamous for years for its QC issues. There was hope when comic spidey and venom came out but then this figure came out and it my hopes were dashed the blue stripes and long claws grew on me but the arms falling off was a deal breaker for me

Mine does have the arm problem. Which is fixable but mine also pop off like nothing. For the price point I shouldn't have to deal with that. But that's just me, I hate how I gotta mess with the upper arm joint. Push it up and then try to shove in the upper arm bicep joint. The figure looks amazing but my arms are just popping off Everytime I pose him. It's annoying as hell. I just got it as a gift the other day and I love the figure but ugh I shouldn't have to take him apart to make sure it stays put for a while. It's so tedious.

I think taking time to play with the figure before reviewing it is always a good idea. I know there is the initial gold rush to get the thing on camera and show it off when it starts shipping but I think understanding the articulation and having a cool down period really helps in the review game. People need to stop saying 100$ figure though, mine was like 70$ shipped from HLJ (and I am still waiting on it.) it's only 100$ if you pay for shipping, and thats not the cost of the figure it's the cost of importing. Expensive things always have allot of scrutiny, it doesn't matter if they are great if it's pricey it's just easier to hate on because you don't want to pay for it, it's the same reason people try to justify buying bootlegs.

Looks like a really good figure but for the price it should be almost perfect. Based on multiple reviews the ML version is better in a lot and that’s unacceptable since it’s quadruple the money. Still a good review man.

Maybe I’m just being too positive, but I think the arms falling off could work great if you wanted someone ripping his arms off or something. Since that definitely happens in the comics sometimes.

I really don’t care about inaccuracy in paint but if the Cyclopes falls apart then there might be a fall in quality because no figure should have these amount of issues it’s frustratingly difficult with my mafex venom and mafex miles morales since venom has a arm that pops out too much and his feet pop out when you have it’s normal feet on there and both their legs are very very springy! It’s been weeks and they haven’t stopped springing back when I move it’s look out. If anyone can help me with that please tell me how

He's a cool figure but a little too expensive for me, especially with some of the issues. Im all for personal fixes/customs but personally if I need to fix things about a figure that's almost $100 I'll have to sadly pass. I love the review as always! I'd love to actually own a Mafex fig one day, but as a gift or something. Maybe one day they'll make a character I can't pass up.

I don't think it's necessary on the arms. I'll probably do that for the neck joint though.

Deadpool does not come with guns because it's illegal in Japan for a toy to have "actual" looking guns. You can always buy generic guns online. The figure does come with gun holding hands so, it should be fine.

No, the blue is completely inaccurate. I passed for that alone but also don't need a flimsy $100 figure with arms that pop off. Don't care for the metallic paint, but the tone of blue is finally more accurate to the cartoon. They all come so close and just have to figure out ways to be inaccurate.

Decent review but we should have ZERO issues for a $100 6" figure imho. Some people are getting accustomed to paying this much and expecting less than perfection. We shouldn't be tolerant at this price. It probably should cost $50. I can understand Mezco charging more cause of the outstanding tailored soft goods. I also like Anthony Customs more critical take on this figure.

I understand the expectation of quality that comes with a price like that but realistically what figure has ZERO issues? I love Mezco but do you remember how many issues their tiger stripe Wolverine had? It was crazy. I appreciate Anthonys more critical take too but I just disagree with him a lot of the times.

I expect zero problems with almost anything I buy. If there's an issue, I return it. If you bought an expensive car, dinner, shoes, computer, clothes, jewelry or TV (for example), do you expect to have problems? Same translates to toys or just about any new product. imho.

6:18 those paint details are ok for a 30$ figure, just look at stripes + they are blue + way long claws + arms falling apart + IT IS A 100 $ FIGURE. It should be almost perfect and not almost OK.
