Same. Would still be playing if it had more variety and stuff to do after finishing the Story.

Absolutely stunning upgrade from the 2002 version, would've liked to see the same upgrade for Mafia II, but I guess the main focus was the complete revamp of the first game. Some more variety of cars would've been a bit nice. I know this doesn't really matter, but it surely captures the time period, having suicide doors on cars such as the remakes of Mercedes Vehicles. L.A. Noire really captures the feel of the 1940s with it's variety of cars (95), Why doesn't Mafia do the same. Still amazingly impressed on how this game turned out, and the story will always stick with me.

Thats a pretty well written comment right here. And indeed L.A. Noire did a way better job in terms of cars. Handling aswell, but thats just rockstar. (Excluding GTA V) Talking about suicide doors, i dont think Mafia 1 even has those. And well, Hangar 13 is just a quick cashgrab studio for Take2. I mean, they implement manual shifting in Mafia 1, map all the buttons for it, except the one for the clutch. (Talking about Controllers rn) They dont even playtest. Mafia 1 even has spawnable NPCs from Mafia 3. Just need a mod menu for it. Aswell as the movement its the same as the one from lincoln clay. Every single building you can enter in the countryside is empty. It doesnt have any debris inside or anything like it, its plain and clean. So yeah, it was all about the money. As always sadly.Simple copy-paste with a little work on graphics and story

Mafia is set in the 1930s that's why it can't catch that 1940s feel.

Mafia has some very good driving physics, very satisfying when u make a clean drift or turn

They are done pretty nicely, but the Steering in Mafia 1 is incredibly snappy. It was really hard to make it look good. Id recommend you my Mafia 2 Video. The Physics in this game are still unmatched.

The Gear changes would have sounded differently if i would be able to use the clutch with an Controller. Guess what, you cant. Still havent patched it and probably never will. Btw, about the gear changing noise, They really nailed the sound of murdering your gearbox, thats for sure 🤣

The noise is because old boxes didn't have syncomesh. So, if you just pressed in the clutch and shifted gears from say second to third for example, and then release clutch, you would get this sound. To avoid it, you had to double clutch. So, press the clutch in, move from second into neutral, release the clutch, then press it again, move from neutral into third and Bob's your uncle.

@@Edvard.Munchkin This is a nice explanation but, they really forgot to map the clutch on Controller. It is useable with Keyboard only. If used, it sounds like it should!
