I finally beat this mission on classic difficulty (PC, Xbox controller). Here are some tips to help you save time and come in first place: 1. If you're not at least in 3rd place after the car that gets totaled in the 4th turn during the first round, restart the race. 2. If you're not at least in 3rd place entering the 2nd round, restart the race. 3. If you're not at least in 2nd place entering the 3rd round, restart the race. 4. Follow the tips in this video about cutting the first 2 corners in the 2nd and 3rd turns by driving through the grass. *This was the single most helpful tip I found in any video on the subject.* 5. You don't necessarily need to slow down in the 4th or 7th (2nd turn after the S-curve) turns. Instead, you can use your slam here while turning to help you turn better. 6. Just remember to slow down sufficiently for the 1st turn and S-curve each lap. I can't count the number of times I was in top-3 only to screw up the whole race because I was being greedy and didn't slow down enough here. 7. Generally try to avoid any and all contact with other cars. 8. Block when you're in first place and prioritize safe turning over speeding ahead. Hope this helps and you can get past this piece of shit mission in an otherwise great game.

I haven't seen anyone saying this, but I just let up on the acceleration super early for most of the turn and feather the brakes. I was playing on a controller and it worked pretty well for me. I did not bother slamming into other racers. Just let off early before turns and do a ton of light taps on the brakes.

@@CenturionKZ Yes and no, in the DE, you can crash all you like, without dying or wrecking your car. Overtaking in the official was much easier. But that game was way more realistic. If you for example would flip your car, you would die in that game (probably due to no safety belts and rollcage). However, if I am not mistaken, I believe you could skip that race after a few attempts.

Seriously tried for an hour on classic difficulty and was about to send my chair to Mars so Elon would have something to sit on when he arrives. Then I changed the difficulty to easy mode which changes the driving mode too. Won my first race by a land slide. I bought the mafia game for the mafia story and Tommy guns not to ape around a track in a race car with wheels covered in olive oil for hours. If you're stuck on this...drop your difficulty to easy then once this mission is over put your difficulty back to hard or classic and continue the game from there.

The one thing that helped me more than anything else was learning to let go of W. This gives you more control over curves and stops you from spinning out or drifting. It's simple: if you're gonna brake, let go of everything except S. If you're gonna turn, let go of W and just brake (if necessary) and turn. I didn't use speed limiter but I did use ram a few times to get some better curves, but that's not necessary. I also set everything to the lowest settings (including resolution), which made me get 100+ fps at all times and made the car a little easier to control. But the main thing is: LET GO OF W. Best advice I could give anyone struggling is to not even try to win Just pretend your out for a Sunday drive, easy on the acceleration and brakes, don't bother with the handbrake at all.

Good tips. Took me an hour to win this thing, although half of that time was learning the conrols and making sure I actually could drive a lap without crashing. When you can do that, its not really hard. Get lucky the first few corners and you should be able to win without too much trouble.

Exactly you learn the track, cut the inside line at the beginning and cut the grass and its not actually bad at all even on the hardest difficulty, once you're past the pack you can literally just drive safe and wait for most the front drivers to crash if you're patient or literally just take a few attempts to get a perfect run and take them all on just the first lap. So many impatient people in this comment section that didn't want to turn the difficulty down complaining about the design.

Everything about this except the first turn is accurate. For the first turn or "sandpit" you want to get on the far right side, slow down to line up a straight shot, and ram through the hay bales on the inside of the turn. Do that just right and you cut that corner. Got me to 12th on first lap, 5th on second, and helped me keep 1st. Good luck gentlemen, you'll need it.

I managed to complete it though Here is some advice Do not restart if you think you're going to be stuck in 2nd place at the 3rd round. Honestly i was enjoying the game until this mission happened, its a shame they decided to stick with this mission and not having improved much upon the car control mechanics. It feels like the devs don´t want you to enjoy their game. This mission is just there to suck gameplay time, if you fail (which you probably did at least one time) it takes too much time. They should have done this mission easier as a race tutorial and done some harder ones as secundary quests. I do enjoy hard games when its balanced, and when you know what you are getting into, even some hard sections on easy games can feel in place with the pacing if done right, not this case, there´s no thought in the player and pacing at all which sad because so far the games was good ...

The fact that a racing mission needs a video like this for a lot of people to even know how to *potentially* win is incredible. I’ve been loving the game so far but holy shit this is honestly one of the most miserable gaming experiences I’ve had in years.

Tried this race for the first time and passed, the trick is get at in at least 3rd place before the first lap ends and then slow down on turns and let go of the gas once and a while it helps a lot!

GUYS READ THIS I tried this mission on classic like 70+ times, and of course failed. I tried with the tips and tricks as well but it didn't work out for me. Honestly no one deserves such a hard mission. BUT if you put the race on easy and when you're at the last lap right in front of the finish line you can simply change the difficulty of the mission to CLASSIC. YOU WILL RECEIVE THE TROPHY

Wrong. The trophy you got is for winning the race, not for winning it on classic. People are struggling with it on classic because there's a different trophy for playing the whole game on classic. If you change the difficulty down to finish this race in first, you'll still get the race trophy, but you won't get the classic trophy at the end of the game, even if you put it back to classic before you finish the race. I don't know why so many people think they're cheating the system, but it's not some secret glitch you found. You will void the classic trophy by doing this.

I can’t fathom how deflating this mission is. Imagine being hooked on a great storyline with so much more game ahead just to be smacked down by this race over and over. Takes me right out of the game

I found it hard but easily got it the second time when I paid attention. This one has had me stumped for a day now. I get so goddamn impatient. Especially when I come second or third. This is by far the hardest mission.
