This is many people's reality. It's so sad when you try to do everything right, try to please everybody but yourself, and in the end feel so empty, like you've missed out on your own life. You just feel stuck. That bit "I'm just watching my flowers grow" gets me everytime. It's like he's saying "There's no more hope for me, I'll live and die this way, but at least it makes me happy to see that some other form of life can bloom". Maybe I'm overanalyzing but I find the lyrics powerful. I can relate.

Oh I can see the symbols alright, it's part of why I love him actualy.. Not sure he's "up to something" though.. What do you mean, that he's gonna lead the next apocalypse or something ? I know his music, lyrics (translated some into french) and videos really well, I don't mind seeing "further", just not in that direction. You should check the interview called "Woodkid interview @ Paradiso", he explains a bit about why he's using some religious stuff in it..

That explains a few things. It's still kinda creepy hearing a guy sing about his husband. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against gays. It's just weird hearing a guy sing about a husband. Other than that, it's a great song. Reminds me of all the times I've fallen into the depths of despair and misery. We all have those moments when we lose hope and feel like nothing we do will matter, that we're failures. You just have to press on.
