I don't think Twinning Staff works with Magar creatures since the text on those creatures would say "create a copy of the card" and "You may cast the copy" they do not "copy spell" and would not trigger Twinning Staff. Unless of course it's in the deck to synergize with other spell copy.

Twinning staff is more for the copy synergy in the deck.

In fact, it doesn't copy. Just with the 7 mana activated ability.

Almost built this guy. At the beginning of the year I wanted to do something different so I built some unfinity commanders , dee-kay , most dangerous gamer and Myra. Now I want to go back and build this guy, seems a lot of fun.

It's fun to play against. There is a lot of tension between the moving parts of the deck, but when it works it works really well.

EXACTLY what I looked for, been thinking to build him no creatures

Extra combats are op in magar, all is dust becomes almost a one-sided board wipe every turn. Also rise of the eldrazi is a sweet new addition.

Ok, so I have avoided using unfinity until now, but Magar is very tempting and looks pretty fun. Great video as always! And man that Fevered Suspicions is pretty sweet looking!

Pretty suspicious card, probably a deep fake crisis actor lizard person in disguise.

Ah yes, one of my secretly broken commander decks. Can actually be really oppressive if you get a good start. I played a game where I animated a Soul Shatter and my opponents couldn't all play multiple crestures in one turn fast enough to not have to sac their board when I came sround swinging. I'd hit whoever is open and the whole table suffers. And by the time they found an answer I already had was to make the cards unblockable and animated worse things-- Din of the Fireheard, Choice of Damnations, and Breach the Multiverse. Not something I pull out regularly unless we're all okay with being a bit mean
@bettercommander Жыл бұрын
It's mean, but I think it's fair. Contrast this with some of the other broken commanders. Magar at least has to jump through a fair amount of hoops. The payoff is wild though.
@Neonst3r Жыл бұрын
@@bettercommander @bettercommander Definitely fair! So many moving parts. Whatever craziness you're able to pull off with Magar is all earned

Where is rise of the eldrazi? It's essentially "deal combat damage: win the game" "
@flyjum Жыл бұрын
Weird commanders are why I play this game. Why not just put the card face up? Graveyard cant be hidden so its really weird how its worded and attempts to keep the spell hidden.
@bettercommander Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's what Ray does and just makes it a 3/3. Makes more sense that way and is easier for everyone.

I'm so excited to build and buy a Magar deck. I'm making a deck for all of the turning a noncreature into a creature theme. Mishra Artifacts, Magar Spells, Jolrael Lands, and Anikthea Enchantments. Just missing planeswalkers but i don't know how I'd build that deck. Yet.

Damn, you are the man. I'll take a look at Mairsil the Pretender. Thanks for being the wind beneath my wings brother.

What if they just keep destroying or countering your commander. Then you can't really do much
@bettercommander Жыл бұрын
The same question could be asked about at least 80 percent of the commanders I play. There are some decks where the commander is not strictly necessary, but most of the time I build around the commander's ability.
@emiliogil5816 Жыл бұрын
In this case, you just have to play around it. Save some mana when you play Magar, if they blow him up you will reanimate a big spell and make them regret not saving the removal for the spell that is now on the table.
