This is one of my favourite commanders rn. A combo I’ve done to my friends involved Magar, Savage Beating, Sword of Feast & Famine, and Anger in my graveyard. Basically, this resulted in me getting infinite combats with infinite mana from the sword untapping all my lands to reanimate more spells for the next combat phase, and the new spells would have haste from anger as well. And oh yeah, one of those reanimated spells was Entomb, so I never ran out of things to reanimate. It was disgusting all together. Idk how they allowed me to pull off something like this

Bonus round won’t work like that if it’s copied by an attack because it won’t have resolved as the other attacks connect

Which part of Bonus Round are you referring to because I mention it twice in the video???

@@casual_commander pretty sure I'm referring to the face-down combat damage trigger. I'll double check the video, I could be wrong

@@casual_commander 19:50 - "Magar will have each connecting creature trigger separately so make sure you have bonus round resolve first so that every other spell afterwards gets copied" - they are all being put on the stack simultaneously because all combat damage happens at once, you can order them, but bonus round won't have resolved yet.

@@TRU3OGR3 I double-checked with a judge using an example of Bonus Round and one other spell and this is what they sent me: "Okay. It does work. The two spells aren't cast at the same time. Just put the Bonus Round trigger on first and cast it. You'll resolve the trigger and cast the spell - and resolve the spell - all while the OTHER trigger is waiting. Say it's a Lightning Bolt for convenience. And then you'll end up going double bolt." Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, Magic Online doesn't make all cards available to play and Magar is one of them. So until the channel starts posting paper magic games, we won't be able to see it in action 👎

My only issue is din really, it’s kinda a sin to destroy lands. Being that it ruins the experience of other players. Though, I’m going to say.. I’m largest issue with this deck is actually finding a good amount of haste engine effects without being overly cluttered with them at the same time. As of right now I only have three options in my deck and it feels like I never get it early enough or often enough to really abuse and huge effect. Being that if I discard something big, I want to that turn. Make it into a creature and swing before opponents can react. If I wait a full rotation of the board, not only is that creature not big enough to deal with the Aggro threat on board perhaps you just gain the attention of him so he’s going to be aiming to take you out because he knows you will be doing the same next turn around. It’s the high threat issue I’m having problems with, being that it doesn’t really run much “defense”, say I swing in as well, I take half their life.. well they still have their full board on the crack back. Lol Figure if I wanna make this deck work, I need to play it like an Aggro deck… do it fast enough where other players like control or stacks has a harder time building up in time before you make some major plays. I mean even the 13 zombie card is (great), though they also come in tapped so you still left shields down a rotation, however if you do it idk turn 3/4.. that’s too early for most players to have a wrath spell or a way to fight you before you have a shields up the following turn. So haste is just, almost required to make function. Though I’d argue unblockable is also another factor here.. however the amount of those I have in my deck is dumb being that two of them are lands so they are easily a slot option.

If your playgroup doesn't feel comfortable with the land destruction, it's an easy swap. You're right, you don't want too much haste, but sometimes to get around that its better to think of magar as a 6 mana commander; only cast it when you can reanimate a spell right away.

This deck needs to run filth. You have 1 player in black and everything is unblockable. Also intimidation.
