What a band. McGeogh on guitar and Adamson on bass. And Howard was the best lyricist since Lou Reed wrote the early Velvets albums. So this is real life! So fantastic over 40 years later.

Genius. I thought Howard Devoto looked weird. And then I saw Dave Formula. I saw them at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the early 80s. Robert Smith and Simon Gallup were in the audience with us.

Give Me Everything gives me a pavlovian response of being 14 again, doing my morning paper round in thick autumnal fog a few hours after hearing it for the first time on John Peel the night before
