Magdeburg market victims include four women and a boy, officials confirm

At least five people, including a toddler, have been killed and more than 200 injured after a car drove into people at a busy Christmas market in Germany. Up to 40 of the injured are in a serious condition.
The horror incident unfolded on Friday evening at the market in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt. The death toll is expected to rise, with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz saying nearly 40 of those were “so seriously injured that we must be very worried about them”.
Regional government spokesperson Matthias Schuppe and city spokesperson Michael Reif said they suspected the attack was deliberate, although it is not yet known if it was terror related.
