In my experience mage is by far the easiest class in the game to use, all you do use blast beam and repeat, requires almost no skill with your very low cooldown hitscan beams with aoe and equally as low cd blasts which are easy as hell to land, unless you're trying to hit midair beams mid dodge n shit. It doesn't need buffed but rather certain magics balanced.

Bro you realy say that when berserker is by far the easist and more broke class in the game you just airstall use shot crash and explosión in that order and do 400 damage without need to realy have good aim just rely in aoe

Mage is no doubt the easiest build to learn and it has a lot of potential, but most people can't get past how predictable it is, you just high jump, cast a spell, then repeat most of the time, which can leave you open to projectiles. But besides that mage is no doubt a phenomenal class

The only mages that rlly need a buff r slow magics really... They have blasts which are nearly impossible to land unless ur upclose which is kinda an issue since mage is supposed to keep their distance away from their opponenet

Use size, all slow magic does extreme amount of damage and has big size to compensate, Earth and magma are braindead for mages because of their size and dmg, and honestly yea, blast is mid, but placed explosion exists and is great for these kind of magic.

and you can even change fire for poison to make this even worse since you now have area denial and a better DOT (slow but high damage DOTs are good with builds that mostly only focus on using the first magic)

Mage is fantastic, but also has a slight learning curve going from high jump move spam to actually thought out fights that make you a demon.

I use plasma and kind of suck at PvP in general, so I don’t usually win. No, I can’t delete the file, it’s from WoM and is important to me because of the memories, including the choice of magic. Warrior is so cracked it’s absurd tbh. Warrior outclasses mage in basically every category except maybe aoe. Mid to bad magics are just straight up worse than just spamming GW staff and Vindi

Synergy mages will be op with javelin. e.g. ice-water, lightning-water

you need to deal a certain percentage of your opponent's health to be able to inflict synergies. Example: if you apply soaked to your enemy and then hit them with a lightning javelin, only the intial hit will paralize them. All subsequent hits from the javelin wont cause enough damage to actually apply the synergy

Mage is definitely a good class and frankly no class is really hard to learn in AO but to say its no skill or braindead is just wrong when things like berserker and warlord exist. Winning mage v mage battles is easy but winning mage v thermozerker battles when your opponent can catch up to you instantly(mage has no mobility) is definitely hard because then its not just about aim anymore.

Experienced mage here. You're slightly correct, though I will say that some good buffs are needed. I've noticed overall that mages tend to suffer in PVP. Combat Gods like you can make any build work, but your average (or in my case, below average) PVPer is not going to hold up to average/below average classes that are more meta (especially weapon users)
