Love to see this space becoming MORE COMPETITIVE, with a broader selection of devices. . Instead of just Hammerhead, Garmin, & Wahoo.

You think this is competitive? This computer is weak, you get what you pay for.

Exactly, competition is always good for consumers in the end. For $159 it's nice to have a 2.8" color touch screen and navigation - Garmin's cheapest computer is still $200 and is black and white.

@@seanism2011 With some software updates I think this Magene could be much more competitive. Right now the biggest difference between Garmin and smaller brands like Magene / Bryton / iGPSPORT is lack of software refinement and user experience. The hardware on these budget computers is already on par with more expensive products, you're really paying for software features.

Which one would you recommend? this one or the IGPSPORT BSC300T?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 күн бұрын
That's a good question. Personally I might go with the iGPSPORT BSC300T, it has a live segment feature and easier to use shortcuts than the Magene. The 2.4" screen on the BSC300T is on the small side though.

which one would you go for out of your own money? igps bsc300,bryton 750se or magene? on/off road navigation ?can you turn off touch screen?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 ай бұрын
There is no way to turn off the touch screen or lock it out as far as I know. Personally I like the Bryton 750 SE's navigation over the Magene. With the Magene you get a bigger screen and more polished look, but the navigation is lacking.

Can it update the navigation when I deviate from the route like for example google maps? Or does it stick to a route?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 4 ай бұрын
There is no re-routing with the computer, you'll just get a "off route" notification and some arrows you help you get back.

@@TheSweetCyclists Do you have in mind any cheap navigation that can do re-routing?

which is better between this and the igs 300?

I like the larger color touch screen on the Magene compared to the iGSPORT BSC300 but I prefer the iGSPORT for the overall experience.

@TheSweetCyclists 😪😭I ordered the magene. I shoulda awaited your reply. But I thought they are bigger as a company so might improve on the software part especially the navigation and give us free updates...idk.

Which Mount are you using to mount it in front of the handlebars? I don't see an official mount for this GPS on Magene website.
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 ай бұрын
The Magene computer uses a standard Garmin quarter turn mount so you can use any third-party. I like the Topeak UTF out-front mount (kzbin.info/www/bejne/amnQYmiQe610fLMfeature=shared) as it has a dual clamp design which is pretty stable.

@@TheSweetCyclists Thanks, could this mount be able to withstand the weight of a Garmin 1030? I've had bad luck with mounts bought from AliExpress breaking the mounting plastic where the ears of the Garmin attaches, I know the Garmin official mounts are solid buy they are overpriced, so I'm wondering if this UTF is a good alternative.

How could I set the screen time off....? In setting I set up auto screen off but it not working in just 10seconds the screen is automatically off...

Under Settings > Power Management there is an option for auto-shut off for BC Idle (no user interaction with screen / buttons) or on ride pause. Both settings work for me and it's a good way to increase battery life.

Can it auto pause and start?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 2 ай бұрын
There is a speed-based auto-pause but I don't believe the computer support auto-start. You have to select the riding profile and then hit a "start" button. It's one of the frustrating parts of the UI, it is a two-click operation versus one like most computers.

@ thank you. I currently have the wahoo Bolt v1 and once I start the ride manually it’s good. when I come to a stop sign or a red light the ride pauses by itself and then when I start moving. The ride starts recording again that’s what I meant if the Magene does the same thing.

Most important : battery life?
@TheSweetCyclists
@TheSweetCyclists 6 ай бұрын
The battery life has been good with the C606. I believe I've seen around ~15 hours using a cadence sensor and radar (the radar can really reduce runtime with all the beeping and display updates).

Not sure what notch your referring to. There is a small cutout at the bottom of the computer where you can put the safety tether through.
