No reporter in America understands former President Trump better, and in turn the circumstances that led to his presidency, and unlikely primacy within the Republican Party. Come hear Ms. Haberman discuss her book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” the definitive and newsy chronicle of Mr. Trump’s life before, during and after office, with fellow journalist Mark Leibovich and author of "Thank You for Your Servitude: Donald Trump's Washington and the Price of Submission," an unsparing examination of Mr. Trump’s official support system.

Haberman, and other competent ethical journalists, have done the country a service by writing history as it happens. No revisionist interpretations or falsehoods, just testimony of facts. Haberman is great to admit what she doesn't know and isn't inclined to respond to questions outside her area of expertise. She's good at what she does.

I enjoyed listening as I work outdoors, and I have read the book along with countless others on the presidency. The one and only thing that stood out to me was in the Q & A portion. One man was called upon and began with a grievance about students being the ones who usually get called upon. He proceeded to claim the one of few t supporters present. I found it quite hilarious. I'd like to ask him, "what was the t policy that kept gas prices low", as was the only thing he brought up.

I’ve watched Trump with people from where I was raised. He charms his way in by calling people “real Americans/patriots” to elevate the ego then when the door is open he grabs their frustration and anger and plays it like a piano. Next comes the message that only HE understands. It’s probably difficult to see when it’s so close with all that emotion clouding the strategy. That’s what he takes. He takes your belief, your anger, your hope. After you invest so much in him, it must be difficult to stop hoping he is what you think.

Asking Boeing to negotiate the price of a new air force 1 . 8. The Abraham accords 9. Pushing the America first agenda which to me means putting Americans first before foreign nations. 10. reducing regulations which stifle business 11. calling the media fake news to bring awareness to the bias of journalist on TV who were all former hill staffers and are clearly devoted to Washington DC not the American people. 12. putting tariffs on China to level the playing field. 13. Fighting back hard against democrats. They always run the show because DC is a democrat town. McCain never fought them. Romney wouldn't. that's why they lost. plenty of things I cant stand about Trump as well, But no Politicians ever fought harder for me. When he lost what did he do? went right back to work, OH AND he donated his salary to government agencies. What other president did that?

@@d-1486 I am not an emotional person. I operate 95% on a realistic logical practical basis. I am a Patriot but dont need any confirmation of this by anyone. I dont know any of these politicians on a personal level so I have no emotional investment in them. For me its Transactional. I want someone to represent my interests like a lawyer would in court.
