It's eight am, and I am back in the audition grind! And I am still waiting outside because I... haven't figured out the online signup thing yet. Because that whole thing started while I was pregnant, and, idkabtu but it's like the Hunger Games. Um, so, I'm at an open call, and, y'know, jumping back into auditioning after you've had a baby is like... just like getting back on a bike, except the seat is never comfortable again, and the tires... are a little flat. When you come home to me I'll wear a sweeter smile And hope that, for a while, you'll... Thank you, thanks, thank you! I'm climbing uphill Climbing uphill I'm up every morning at six And standing in line With two hundred girls Who are younger and thinner than me Who have already been to the gym Yay, soul cycle! I'm waiting five hours in line I'm watching the girls Just coming and going In dresses that look just like this 'Til my number is finally called When I walk in the room There's a table of men Always men, usually gay Who've been sitting like I have And listening all day To two hundred girls Belting as high as they can! I am a good person I'm an attractive person I am a talented person Grant me grace! When you come home... I should have told them I didn't sleep last night They're gonna think this is the way I sing Why is sleep training so hard? Should I sing louder? I'll sing louder Maybe I should sing a lullaby I'm good at singing lullabies Why is the director staring at my dress? I haven't lost all the baby weight And my feet grew a whole size Why does pregnancy do that So I borrowed my mom's shoes No, look at me No, not at my shoes These are my mom's shoes Why did I pick these shoes? If I don't get a callback I can go to Buybuy Baby and buy some nipple cream Not that I want to go to the store But breastfeeding is hard and my nipples hurt so bad that I don't have time to wait for Amazon Prime, maybe I'll just stop the whole thing and use formula instead And once again...
