One of the advantages of being an old geezer in my mid-70's is that I lived through the era of great, classic rock. This is a good example of how it was performed back in the day, by a small group of good musicians who knew what they were doing. There are a few around today who still do it that way, but they're on the fringes, not in the mainstream like the earlier times. Thanks to The Midnight Special and other channels that share this history with us all, old timers or newbies.

Makes you wonder why great bands like Redbone, Fanny, and even Rodriguez, have to be rediscovered? They reflected authentic America, and their talent and artistry were off the charts. The record companies knew this, but gave into status quo and rejected the true innovation of these artists.
@NickNicometi Жыл бұрын
Yet, there they were on The Midnight Special. Even if they made enough to buy a house and start a small business or recording studio, they did well with their time invested in their talent and had a better head start than most American working scrubs. Their glasses were half-full.🍷

According to Pat Vegas,(Redbone’s bassist), Jimi Hendrix, himself part Cherokee, inspired the musicians to form an all-Native American rock group. (Hendrix himself stated that his brother, Lolly Vegas was his favorite guitarist and biggest influence in music). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redbone_(band)
